Hollywood Poster Frames

I’ve had several movie posters framed by Hollywood Poster Frames and am extremely happy with the frames and the service.
They are friendly people who are very very helpful and ver knowledgeable.

I’ve had the pleasure visit them over the years and I’m always impressed with their work product and customer service. Trust me, they get it! Their client list in tinsel town indicates the studios and high end collectors trust them with their irreplaceable, often one of a kind, vintage art.

I ordered an irregular sized frame (27.5 by 39.5) mail order. I couldn’t be happier. The product was neatly shipped, came quickly, was easy to get the poster into, is lightweight and easy to handle, and looks great. Fantastic product!

I found about Hollywood Poster Frames through their website. The thing that really caught my eye about the site was how informative it really was. There were all kinds of posts and mini essays on the owner (Sue’s) philosophies on poster framing, archiving and the materials used. I had been doing a lot of research and shopping around as I had a bunch of full size posters that I wanted framed. I wanted them done in the best possible both aesthetically and to preserve them, as some were quite valuable. After a few emails and a phone call I found Sue to be every bit as professional and informative as her site lead me to believe. I also found, quite pleasantly, that her prices were very good. She does everything custom and is able to keep her rates low as she is basically a warehouse and does a lot of bulk custom framing and thereby passing along the same bulk rate to individual customers.
My favorite part of Sue’s process is that the frames use a non-​glave UV protected plexiglass instead of glass. This is better for several reasons: 1) it has no acid whatsoever there by protects the poster from both the elements and adding any acid that could fade or damage the poster in the long run 2) its a heck of a lot lighter than glass and thus mounting a 27×41 poster is pretty easy and 3) it honestly looks invisible over the poster. I have had so many compliments and people asking «is there anything covering the poster?»
I could not be any happier and I plan on bringing more business here.

I have been working with Sue on framing my entire collection of music posters (bands I played in over the years), all of which are oddly shaped.
Sue is friendly, knowledgeable, amazingly quick to respond via email, her frames are a very high quality and a great value, and she gets you your frames FAST. Scary fast, really.
I will continue to use her for ALL my future framing needs. If you send her your prints (or drop them off), she’ll frame them up professionally for you at no additional charge. I have yet to use that service, but I have no doubt she’ll rock it.
Her frames are easy to put together and insert your artwork. Just get the shims in (which can be tricky, but just need a little extra force) and you’re ready to hang.

Sue is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Her website is full of great info and she is very easy to work with. I ordered my frame and had it in hand in a few days. She sends you tracking numbers and updates, so you know what is going on. She will even help you with the different choices she has available, but she won’t make you feel like you are wasting her time. I found her business after visiting our local Michael’s and Aaron’s. Neither really inspired me with confidence and they were waay more expensive because I wanted UV plexiglass. (When I decided to look at regular glass to save money, neither brick and mortar stores mentioned all the drawbacks to doing so.)
Sue packs the frames really well, she includes clear directions on how to insert your art. If you can loosen a few screws, you can do this. I liked the idea of putting my own lithograph in the frame as I have heard stories about people opening up custom frames years later and finding nasty surprises, like botched art.
The quality of the frame is perfect. Nice paint surface, strong frame, no complaints. She also has the hanging wire installed for you. I will use this company again.

I first ordered from here about 6 years ago… and then again recently for things that I had accumulated into my collection that I wanted properly framed.
Relative to Aaron brothers and your run of the mill local framing shops, they are not going to be cheap… so don’t expect to use them for just your normal cheap movie posters… I use them for the ones that I collect and want to protect.
I was a bit leary at first, but Sue is quite knowlegeable and helpful with what you are trying to get done.
I know I need to buy a couple more frames, and really need to consider these along the lines of investment in art, vs the typical frames that I might put junk in.
These frames are clearly superiour to your local framer, and that doesn’t even include the quality of the plexi, the backing, or the discussion and knowledgeable service that you will get either.
