BHA is a shining example of how miraculously supportive and therapeutic a mental health group can be. Dr. Prameet Bhushan has served as my psychiatrist on and off(i.e., while living in TN) for the past 4 – 5 years and is probably the warmest and most receptive practitioner I’ve ever encountered. I could be in tears over something moments before my appointment and instantly feel comforted, calm and even happy before it ends. He is an incredibly competent M.D., responsible and cautious in his methods and sensitive to any concerns I might have. He also has a great, disarming sense of humor — a valuable, and entirely underestimated, characteristic generally lacking in the field of psychiatry. I’ve also had the fortune of receiving invaluable psychotherapeutic treatment from Dr. Marzi Radpour-Wiley. This radiant, forthright and highly educated psychologist holds a very special place in my heart for the kindness she showed me both during and shortly after treatment. The unique issue I presented with would make me a less than sympathetic patient to almost any counselor/therapist(and certainly send off some serious liability alarm bells), but Dr. Wiley showed me consistent empathy while working through my struggles and provided enough encouragement, insight and perspective to bring me out of a year-long, immobilizing depression so that I was able to accept a position and relocate back to NYC with only 48 hours’ notice. She’s quite simply a wonderful human being and this made her all the more qualified to(and effective in) treating me. Perhaps superfulous at this point, but I highly recommend this facility for all those in the Chattanooga area seeking emotional or psychiatric support.
