Mediocrity. My wife and I had lunch here and both agree that it’s just another average all-you-can-eat pan-Asian buffet. I don’t remember anything being terrible, but nothing was outstanding. The eggrolls were likely a decent quality of pre-packaged frozen eggrolls thawed and fried in shop. Most of the dishes were either chicken or vegetarian. Much of the desert was bland but I do remember enjoying a cake that was close to a tiramisu.(Yes, a tiramisu like cake at a «Chinese» buffet.) I suppose if someone bought me lunch here I’d return, but I’ve no wish to return of my own volition.

Probably not – is my recommendation. It was a down pour outside and I had biz nearby and it was 11:15am so instead of opting for fast food I figured I try this despite the reviews. I wanted soup n hot tea. The good news is those two were passable. The bad is that the other review was right. Lukewarm hot buffet. The food looked good and full(but the had just opened) but everything was borderline cold! Gross. You’ve been warned.

We ate dinner at the China Moon and will not be back. We both had the buffet. The sushi and grilled offerings had been sitting there all evening. The food on the main islands was cold and not fresh. The soups were cold. The ice cream was this generic goo that tastes nothing like ice cream. The service was nothing special. No greeting. No menu. After asking for and receiving a menu, we decided to have the buffet. The prices are slightly higher than competing Chinese restaurants. To top it off, we wanted to use a DoubleTakeOffer, an electronic coupon from the app on our smart phone. It should have given us 50% off on a second dinner buffet. When we got to the register, the cashier says that you have to print it off. That they cannot scan it. Nowhere on the coupon or the DoubleTakeOffer does it say anything about printing it off. Nowhere. Why publish a coupon or sign up for a service and then not honor it. To sum it up, this restaurant is behind the times, over priced with a less than fresh food offering and does not honor their promotions.

Ok, I have to say I am on the fence about writing this review for 2 stars… on average I’d probably give it 3 stars if I were just reviewing the food compared to price, however, service comes into play with any review and this is where they fall flat. Every other weekend my mother, sister, brother and I all go here for the saturday lunch buffet. Its just something we do because, although the food isn’t stellar, it is consistent and priced well… and with a teenage brother and sister, its more bang for our buck. The buffet offers a very americanized chinese menu. There is a tiny area for salad… with either oysters or peel and eat shrimp on ice. There are the typical egg rolls, fried rice, lo mein, sweet and sour chicken offerings, as well as a plethora of other chicken dishes available on the Saturday lunch buffet…(no pork items other than the pot stickers, only a couple of seafood items, and maybe one beef dish) There is also a soup station, and pizza, chicken tenders, fried catfish and french fries available on the buffet. There is also fresh fruit, fresh veggies(cabbage w/baby shrimp, green beans, mushrooms, and fried potatoes) and a small dessert selection. The food is fine, normally quite consistent, and although not quite authentic, we enjoy it for what it is. The servers are… a mess… for the most part. Most try as they might, yet fall short due to whatever reason. Then there is the server who intentionally spills water on me EVERYSINGLETIME I come in. It is to the point that at first I thought she was just bad at pouring out of a pitcher… but after the 10th visit… I caught on.(slow learner? lol) So now we request to not be seated in her section. Saturday nights, they raise their prices and include crab legs(snow crab) on the buffet. We attempted that once, and from start to finish there was not one crab leg on the steam table… they never refilled it. My mother decided to mention this to the owner/cashier. She didn’t want a discount or freebie out of the restaurant… just a reason as to why there were no crab legs when we had paid the higher costs just to enjoy them. The ladys response was«You got full on other items though, didn’t you?» Well, of course we did… we didn’t have an option to get full on crab legs. She then said… and this is what kind of put me off of this restaurant all together… «You should have called and asked for crab legs ahead of time… and we could tell you if we have them or not» Now I don’t know about you, but I generally do not contact a buffet advertising crab legs on their buffet, and ask if they have them. Its a buffet. Her handling of the situation could have been better, instead she was snarky and rude about it. We are on the fence about returning to the restaurant. If we do, I am more than sure it won’t be for their dinner buffet.
