I’ve been here probably 6 times. The sushi chefs tell you they don’t speak English even though they do. Whatever. The biggest problem I have with this place, though, happened tonight. We encountered a customer who told us, «We’re having a saki party!» when we first arrived. He was loud and singing — clearly intoxicated. He later told us that the worst part of his night was that he had to drive to Florida to get home to his wife tonight. He was clearly impaired. When we told our server, she confronted him & he said he was going to pull off at the nearest rest stop & sleep. She continued to serve him saki. He told us he was leaving and we implored him not to drive. As he walked towards us and stumbled over a bar stool, he told us that, «I drive better with a bottle of wine in me than I do sober.» We told 6 different people that worked there and finally our bartender came back. She went out after him only to return to tell us, «Don’t worry, he’s not going anywhere. He’s sleeping in his car.» We immediately left to find that was a lie. Bottom line: this establishment let someone who was clearly intoxicated drive. To Florida. I wouldn’t go back here is the sushi was free.

The food was just ok. The experience was mediocre at best. The restrooms were dirty. I had to change my daughter’s diaper on the changing table and I did it as fast as possible. It was not very clean. Very crowded, very rowdy, our server and hibachi cook were GREAT! But, if you factor in the bland food and the lack of cleanliness in the restaurant, you get a mediocre experience. Also, at other hibachi restaurants I’ve been to, you get soup and salad, then the rice is cooked and served, then the veggies are cooked and served, then protein. Here? you get the veggies last and it’s a sad portion. Not worth the money or time spent, In my opinion. Find somewhere else to go…

Great sushi and service. Sushi rolls were 50% off. Presentation was very basic. Not entertaining at all. Food was real good though.

Horrible Service. Avoid. Went there, wasn’t even busy, dining room we were in was maybe a third full. Multiple waitstaff stopped by, never took our drink order even, after 15 minutes of waiting for a waiter we just left. Was also a little dirty inside. Food might be good, but good luck getting it. As nice and good as the Fuji in Hixson is, why is this one so bad?

Very good I’m a big Sushi fan and this is some of the best I’ve had. Nice surprise considering I’m in Chattanooga Tn. Just didn’t expect such diversity and I love it. I would recommend this restaurant however did not try the other side but if the sushi is any indication of what’s over there it’s good food and a good price heck the rolls were half off at lunch! What a deal.

Don’t come before closing time. U mood to eat when south when there is guy busy swepping the floor n the waiter doesn’t have much desire to serve u. Even the TV was shut off while I was watching. Only the price of sushi made me want to come back.

Too expensive for a sad excuse of a hibachi experience. Our«chef» said he was still hungover from the New Year, and didn’t do any tricks for my son. Yeah, we’ve all seen the onion volcano, but for crying out loud, it’s kind of a big deal when you’re eight. Side note: Half price sushi on Sundays. I enjoyed our Dragon Roll. Everyone should understand that something like half price sushi is put in place not only to increase business but to move through the older product. However, I’ve never experienced«bad» or «not fresh» sushi from this restaurant. You’re eating raw fish; you should already know the risk.

I will never return!!! I left my phone sitting on the table after dining at the restaurant. Before I made it to the car(literally not even 1 minute of walking out of the restaurant) I turned to go back in to get my phone. I noticed all the lights were off and doors were locked. Being a current restaurant employee in Atlanta, Ga. And being in the field many years, I’ve never worked for a restaurant that locks up and closes after the last guest dines. So I’m curious how this place closed up so fast considering our server didn’t even have time to buss our table. I peek through the window of where we were eating and notice my phone on the table along with all of our dirty dishes and a plate full of unfinished sushi. I hate to even think about all of the cockroaches and bugs that crawled all over that full plate of sushi, and what could have possibly crawled all over our sushi before we ate it. Every restaurant I’ve ever been employed at NEVER leaves uncleaned dishes in the dish pit and definitely not on the table. If they don’t clean the tables after a guest leaves at the end of the night then there is no telling what goes with out being cleaned in the kitchen at this place. I was expecting food poisoning out of my visit. I will eat dirt before I eat at this restaurant again!!!

Fuji Steak House is undoubtedly one of the most pitiful restaurants I have dined at this year. Hardly any of the wait staff speak English and are very absentminded and not at all accommodating. After my food arrived, I waited over 5 minutes for a fork, after I had already asked my waiter twice for another table setting. The food is average and the service is certainly far below average. I advise eating at the steak house across the street.

I would give this five stars for Hibachi and two stars for sushi. It is truly one of the best tasting hibachi and a lovely experience. I just think the portions are small with sushi.

We came for Japanese… and we’re very disappointed… let me break it down… Atmosphere: DIRTY… the floor is sticky, the seats and table also sticky… the decorum was super dusty, and there were a ton of mosquitos landing on our inside table! Yuk! The food: the sushi… NOT fresh, NOT tasty, NOTWORTH ordering! The teriyaki tastes like a FREEZERBAG mix, clearly not made here… it’s awful! The service: wasn’t good. Our server was awkward, didn’t really check on us, did our bill incorrectly… Overall: this place should close down, make changes, clean and retrain the staff!

This was my go to place for sushi! I was usually the only one out of my friends who liked sushi and of course I would never go eat alone. So I always called ahead and my sushi would be done in no later than 20 minutes. It would always be fresh by the time it got to my house and seriously, my favorite sushi rolls are from them.

I just moved here from back west & by far this place has the best sushi in Tennessee. If you go during Happy Hour, you will be delighted with the wide variety of sushi dishes that are half off. The Love Boat sushi plate &AK47 roll are a few of my favorites. Also, the $ 0.99 cent drafts is a great way to bring in customers as you cannot even get this at many local bars back home. They also serve hibachi dishes & have a wide selection of drinks, as well as appetizers. I never thought I would find a great sushi spot in Tennessee but this is definitely one of them! Their service is on point too. I will always go back as long as I live in Tennessee.

My husband and I go to the Chattanooga location about once a month. We really enjoy the atmosphere. The service is great. The hibachi grill was fantastic. Would recommend.

The place is a little dated and feels very worn. The décor is from a different era and could use a remodel. The service is great, however. They are attentive and always ready to help. The salad had a good dressing and lettuce was crisp as well as texture. The fish quality could be better. It didn’t have much flavor and didn’t taste fresh. Several of the rolls had too much sauce that masked the flavor of fish. The tempura batter on vegetables also was soggy.

Went there for a lunch. I did not sit at the Teppan area or the Sushi bar. It seems when you go in, you could sit at the Teppan tables, the Sushi Bar, the regular bar, or a normal booth/table. This review is only about the regular food. I ordered the veggie spring rolls, which were tasty, but a little small. Miso soup, which was good. And a veggie bento meal with steamed rice. It was good. The negatives was the service was a little uneven. We were handed the credit card and check from another table for example. A number of servers instead of one person handling our table probably contributes to that. The other odd thing… I added the tip to my CC bill… but the final charge from the bank never added the tip. Hate to think I stiffed the servers. I like that this place seems more legit and focused on truly Japanese food and that they have Veggie options. The review might really be closer to 3.5. I plan on going back and trying again.

Half priced sushi! Yes! A really cute and comfy place. The staff was a bit slow, but it could always be worse. I can’t complain when I have sushi rolls for sale on my plate! The rolls were fresh and tasty. If I lived here, I’d go back. I recommend.

Fuji’s a fun teppanyaki /hibachi place — a great atmosphere, with the teppanyaki style«sit in front of the grill while the chef cooks your food for you and makes jokes /does tricks». We always ask for our favorite chef, JR, who for us provides the best entertainment, as well as he adds the best flavors to the food. He always considers and delivers any special requests. I had the Scallops, and spicy rice. Spicy rice is where JR takes the regular fried rice, adds some hot sauce and the white yum yum sauce and cooks it all together — Not too hot but great flavors! The only reason, for not a five star, is the soup was too watery and lacking of any flavor tonight. Other than that, we couldn’t have been any more pleased with our dinner.
