Simple chinese sit-down restaurant in an area overpopulated with hibachi and buffet style Asian joints. I was super happy when my son ordered something other than sesame chicken– and enjoyed it. My ‘spicy’ Sichuan dish was missing the heat but was still delicious with an abundance of green onions(which I really like).

Best Chinese food in Chattanooga, hands down! I’ve been a regular here for almost a decade now and the food is always on point. Don’t let the other reviews dissuade you, give Imperial Garden at least one chance and judge for yourself.

Waited an hour for food. White rice too wet(soggy). Food tepid. Eggplant dish had 2 tablespoons of eggplant for $ 8.50. Not good. Won’t go back.

My favorite place for Chinese in the Chattanooga area. Definitely the best hot and sour soup in town… and one of the few non buffet as well. A must try if you like Chinese!

This place is dark and depressing looking. The staff is very lackadaisical, & the food for the most part is subpar. The only thing I go here for is there AMAZING hot and sour soup! OMG it is absolutely the best I have ever had anywhere! Their recipe is by far different than any other that I have ever tried. If it weren’t for the soup I’d give this place only 1 star and never eat here again. Sad to say because I love good Chinese food.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Hamilton Mall area. The owner and wait staff are always attentive and helpful. The food is always fresh and well seasoned. We try a different dish each time often based on the special or the recommendation of the waiter.

Not so good. It smelled bad in the restaurant. My order was not correct, I was told I’d have to repay to get the right food? Only when I said I’d need a refund did they fix it.(I have an allergy) Lesson learned, I’ll choose another place for Chinese food next time.

This place is alright; it’s a little dingy, it’s in an ugly strip mall and the meals can be hit-or-miss. What it DOES have going for it, however, is an entire page of vegetarian options in the regular menu, instead of the typical handful of choices! This is rare, and it’s what keeps us coming back. One of the more veggie-friendly places in this part of town. Several of the tofu dishes are worth the visit.

Not very good. The sauce was watery and the rice was dry. It was also over priced. I paid $ 10 for a one person meal. I am from Baltimore where real chinese food is, and this is not it! Go somewhere else!

This is NOT my favorite Chinese restaurant by far. My boyfriend loves their hot and sour soup. I go because he likes it. The food is so-so at best.

My first choice for Chinese in Chattanooga. A great value and most items on the menu are very good. Their dishes are not swimming in gooey sauce like other Chinese places. The family dinner is an excellent deal. My absolute favorite is their unique Steak in Cue Sauce. Quality can be inconsistent and the same dish doesn’t always look the same, let alone taste the same, between visits.

Imperial Garden is above average for the typical Chinese Restaurant. The food is fresh and the portions are large in keeping with the family style dining that Chinese food encourages. It is certainly not P.F. Chang’s, but the food is good. I like their Happy Family and they have good lo mien. The prices are a bit high for this type of place, but as I said you get a lot of food. Enjoy!
