Best old school burger in town. First of all, the name of the place has changed. It’s now J & D (Janet and Dennis, the owners). They bought it two years ago from whomever J & C are.
I heard about this place a few years ago but just had not been able to make it. Best burger in town, they said. I got there at around 2 pm. A sketchy part of town, but great employees and clientele.
I didn’t know they close at 2. I said I would come back. They said they’d be happy to cook me a burger. I talked to Janet as it was being prepared. She said they use ⁸¹⁄₁₉ beef and that it is all hand pattied. This is the best traditional burger in town IMO. They make it real thin and it gets a bit crispy here and there, which I love. Great bun and toppings. A perfect burger.
Janet said they also do a great breakfast and do a good business for that meal. What a great place. I would hate to choose best burger in town between this and Tremont Tavern. Let’s just say they are both great in their own way. J & D, however, is better than Zarzour’s and Kevin Brown’s IMO.

Great hamburgers and chile dogs. The food is great everyone there is all ways nice and quick to get your order to you. Best BLT in town if you want breakfast you can pretty much get it all day but my favorite is the cheese burgers they are the best in town.

Great place to grab fast food without supporting a fast food place! Great burger, awesome crinkle fries and cool hometown people.
