Old style simple bakery store. We used to go there every Friday after school. My little kids(3rd and 1st grade) will bring their own money(coins) and pick a few cookies(not like dozen, just 3 or 4 single cookies) and the lady will kindly calculate for them. They love it so much, not only those great cookies but this whole shopping experience. What a wonderful place and lovely people. I still go there sometime to pick up some thumbprint cookies for myself :)

I live in 650 miles away from Jackson Bakery, but I grew up in Chattanooga. Every year either my parents or I go back to visit, and stopping here is a must. After 20-something years the cakes and cookies are just as I remember them, and I haven’t found a substitute that’s better. Few things make me more excited than getting a package of two-day-old thumbprint cookies or a cake after someone’s been back to Chattanooga. In fact, their coconut cake just graced my thanksgiving dessert table(and I finished the rest in a few days). Simple bakery. Lovely people(the same ones I remember from when I was a kid!). Great food. Good prices. I can’t believe there are no reviews for this place yet — it’s such a fantastic institution.
