I can not recommend Dr. Furr highly enough. He is committed to helping his patience and spends a great deal of time talking to you and more importantly listening to you. I had symptoms that were dismissed by my previous Dr and found Dr. Furr. I am so glad I did, he took my symptoms seriously and the problem was fixed. He is an excellent Dr. and surgeon. His staff is very friendly, professional and a pleasure to work with.

Dr. Furr gets a high rating; his staff gets a very low one. Dr. Furr is highly professional, compassionate and knowledgable doctor. He has really helped me. His staff, however, is incredibly frustrating to deal with. I came to Dr. Furr after being dismissed by other specialists as just anxious with IBS. I knew it was Endo. He correctly diagnosed me and scheduled surgery to remove the Endo. He spent a good amount of time in my consultation and was thorough. Afterward, he told the staff to schedule me for a pre-surgery appointment the day before surgery and they did. They handed me a card. I live 2 hours away. When I came for the pre-surgery appointment, staff told me he was not even there that day, and that there was no appointment booked. They acted like I was crazy and demanded to see the appointment card, which I had long thrown away since I wrote it in my calendar. Incredibly frustrating. He went ahead and did the surgery the next day. He seemed to shrug off the problem at the office. He did give us his cell number, which we were able to call when I had some problems after the surgery — and that was greatly appreciated to be able to contact him directly. After surgery, I called his office to make a 4-week post op appointment. I was told he was triple booked and could not see me, so a nurse would have to. I demanded to see my surgeon, not a nurse… HE did the surgery, HE should do the follow up — especially given that he found another disease(a lifelong one) while he was in there and I need to talk to him about this. I was told they would take a look and call me right back. After a few days I still had not heard back. I had to call back and start all over again. Finally got it scheduled but they told me since he is triple booked they are«squeezing» me in. When I arrived for it I had to wait for almost 2 hours past my appointment time, most of that time sitting in a drape freezing on an exam table, quite in pain still after surgery, just waiting for the doctor to come in. Once he did he was very thorough and took his time, but I truly wish they would not triple book patients, and take patient comfort into consideration and value our time. I respect their time, which is why I arrive on time, so I do wish mine would be valued as well. At the appointment I had to learn to catheterize myself for bladder treatments. They called my Rx for the meds into Express Rx pharmacy, who told me they would ship them to my house. I never received them, so I called the pharmacy to ask why, and they said Brenda had called them and canceled my Rx — without ever bothering to let me know. I have no idea why she canceled it. So now I am late getting my meds and am waiting to hear back to find out why she canceled it. All of this is highly frustrating. Other frustrations with his office: the address on their website was wrong and so it got me lost, and when I called they said«Yeah, we moved and never have updated the website» and then they gave me their email address and when I try to use it, it bounces back saying it’s not valid. Stuff like this with the office is a huge headache. So: very good doctor, but incredibly disorganized and frustrating staff.
