Amazing service! Had a pair of Chacos on hold. They were able to retrieve them quickly and adjust them to my feet. Will definitely come back to this location!

Of all the Rock/​Creeks in the area, this one is my absolute favorite. They have an amazing selection of clothing, shoes, outerwear and gear, and their staff is always friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their products.
While the Rock/​Creek downtown has more of a focus on boutique/​high-​end clothing, this one is a great mix of everything. They have a really well-​curated selection of jackets and sleeping bags in particular, and a ton of smaller items like water bottles, camping supplies and things that could be considered stocking stuffers. Any time I’m looking for a gift for someone in my life who loves the outdoors, I head over here (and end up picking up a few things for myself, too).
Their staff is also a font of knowledge about local trail systems. When my husband and I first moved to Chattanooga last year, we were in Rock/​Creek talking about where to go hiking and one of the guys behind the counter gave us a ton of great leads on hikes and backpacking in the area.
The parking can be a little rough if it’s a high-​traffic time for Whole Foods next door, but it’s worth it. This is definitely one of my favorite stores in Chattanooga.

All the good Big Brand stuff (I have been drooling over a couple of the winter-​y-​est jackets since I got here in Jan, and though a couple did go on sale, I still had to pass due to $$ so at least it’s warm enough now I am not so sad at the almost-​had). Add in local ownership (they also have a store downtown on Broad). Season with a dash of outdoor/​adventure expertise — as someone else mentioned, the staff can help with local trail-​specific footwear, and the activity log in back is pretty cool.
Top with regular seasonal sales and you’ve got a winner — go by now for new spring items and to see the last deals on winter

RockCreek is one of the main players in the «Keep it Local» scene that is Chattanooga. What gives them the competitive advantage is not their pricing (although reasonable for a locally owned store), not their technical competence (although you will find an expert on any outdoor activity here), but their knowledge of the local scene. These guys will recommend you a different trail running shoe for each of the three major trail systems in Chatt (i.e., Racoon, Lookout, Signal). They are just the right ammount of quirky to let you know that they know their stuff, but friendly enough to keep you coming back.
Make RockCreek your go-​too outdoor retail shop. Keep it local. You’ll be glad you did.

Rock/​Creek is one of the nation’s finest specialty outdoor stores. I know, because I work with specialty retailers around the country.
The store itself is beautiful, with high ceilings and excellent natural lighting. BTW, the store is a part of Chattanooga’s first LEED certified retail development.
The apparel and gear that Rock/​Creek sells is second to none. Rock/Creek’s buyers do a fantastic job of procuring the best products.
The staff are friendly and informative, and most importantly, they are real outdoor enthusiasts with domain expertise that allows them to answer a customer’s need in a more informed way.
And lastly, they know everything there is to know about the local outdoor community. They sponsor trail racing series. They host really fun pint nights. They have speakers and adventurers come to the shops. They sponsor meetup groups. They’ve started a non-​profit, which maintains and protects trails in the area, and they can guide anyone to the best outdoor experiences in the area.
