We had a larger than average party, 6 diners. Everyone but me ordered a baked dish. I had pasta, with a tomato sause and sausage. My dish came out barely warm and practically dry. My guess is that it was prepared ahead of the baked dishes and then waited on them to finish. In any case, a poor effort at a pretty basic dish. On the positive side, the location was great. The weather in late December was even nice enough for us to sit outside on the upstairs deck with a view of the river.

Tony’s is a cute spot in downtown Chattanooga near the art district. It has a great view from it’s outside seating. The Italian food is good. Some of the dishes are better than others. I’d recommend the pesto chicken ravioli.

We enjoyed the food, the décor and the service. The price was right and our dinner was delicious. I had the eggplant Parmesan and my husband had the lasagne. My eggplant was super crispy topped with gooey cheese. So good! We will be back if we come to Chattanooga again which is very likely!

This is my favorite Italian place in town. I’ve enjoyed every visit, and every dish, but I think my favorite so far is the Low Country Linguine. The location in the midst of the beautiful art district is basically perfect. Be prepared to take home some food, though, as the portions are rather large!

Decent food… IF your order is correct, IF the food is brought to the table warm, and IF the service is halfway attentive. My wife and I been here a few times. Each time we had some issue… cold(not hot) food, incorrect order, or slow(very slow) service. Each time we say ‘we’ll give them another chance’. Well, the last visit we hit the trifecta! One order was brought to the table at room temperature, the other order was wrong, and the service was incredibly slow even after telling the waitress we were on a tight timeline. We ‘want’ to like this place… but after several ‘second chances’, we’re done with Tony’s. Too many other spots to eat in this town.

The food was excellent. Atmosphere is somewhat louder but not bad. Great wine selection with all of them available by the glass, which works great if you are like my family where my wife and I do not agree on a wine selection. The wait staff was very rude and in a hurry… He dropped the check off and a to go box of when my wife and I were only half way done with our food. He was really rushing us trying to turn over his tables… He even audibly complained to the busser that he was going to be «stuck here forever tonight». Very rude and pushy trying to turn his tables over… Avoid Nathan C. as a waiter if you go. Otherwise the place was amazing.

The food was delicious, the service was attentive but not over done, and the prices were very reasonable. Looking forward to being a repeat customer.

Delicious, delicious, delicious. The place smells so good and reminds you of what an Italian grandmothers house would smell like for Sunday supper. The chicken parmigiana was very good. Added the meatballs and it was more than I could finish. The calamari is tender and delicious. Pasta sauce and pasta are all fresh and you can really taste it. Only complaint is that they are very skimpy on the wine pours. So it’s better to buy the entire bottle if you want wine with dinner. Or better yet bring your own bottle. Definitely on my short list of «must eats» when I am in Chattanooga for business trips.

Strengths: Good food. Friendly staff. Great menu selection. Walking distance from most attractions. Had spaghetti and meatballs. Opportunities: No draft beer available although bottle selection fine. Meatballs ok. Not game changing. Summary: Decent place to eat Italian without the franchise feel.

Beautiful location, delicious food, great prices, attentive staff! They don’t take reservations so get there early. If you have to wait, take a stroll through the art park down the road. I went for my friend’s birthday and we received excellent service. The waiter recommended chicken Parmesan to my friend which she loved. I had a recommendation to try the lobster ravioli and it did not disappoint. The bread we received upon arrival was unique in that it had full roasted garlic cloves in the bread itself. With the bread we received olive oil with fresh parm. This is a restaurant I would definitely go back to if I get a chance!

Had the fresh black pepper linguini pasta with meatballs, broccoli, basil pesto and wild mushroom tomato sauces. FREAKINDELICIOUS. The pasta was incredibly fresh tasting. Makes a huge difference. You don’t feel weighed down by the food after. I split a portion with milady and it was just exactly enough food. This is a super boring review but it’s too early to be witty.

Best Italian restaurant that I have ever been too! The pasta is so delicious. I made my own pasta with two colored tortellini and got spicy Alfredo sauce on it. Yum! Only downside is they tend to take a while when you have more than just a few people. But still definitely a must try!

This place was pretty nice but my dish was just ok(carbonara). Unfortunately it was left in the oven too long and the noodles on top came out crispy, ble. The pesto ravioli(my date’s dish) was incredible! Might be one of the best Italian dishes I’ve ever had. Overall I’d recommend visiting this place– it’s nice, affordable, and in a cool area with other fun shops around.

Excellent food, bar, service. The servings were just the right size so everyone was full but not a lot of take home. Rather large gluten-free menu which was good for our large party. Ryan was a great server. Thank you. Will return when visiting Chattanooga again.

I am surprised that I could find this gem in Chattanooga. I high recommend their house-made pasta. It’s pretty awesome that you can choose the type of noodles, the sauce and meat to create your own pasta. I made a simple fettuccine with Bolognese sauce. The noodles tasted very fresh, but the meat in the meat sauce was too chunky. I’d prefer more grounded meat in the sauce. We also ordered the Low Country Linguine(sautéed crawfish and mushrooms in creamy cajun alfredo sauce, tossed with house-made black pepper linguine). Again, the noodles were top notched. But I’m not so sure about the crawfish in the sauce… they didn’t taste very fresh. I guess Chattanooga is too far to get fresh crawfish like those you would find in Louisianan or Texas. It’s disappointing considering it’s crawfish season and they can’t even get fresh crawfish to put in their pasta.

Several years ago, our daughter was passing through Chattanooga on Christmas. We met her downtown at Tony’s Pasta Shop for a Christmas Eve lunch. Since that day, it has become a tradition for us to eat Christmas Eve lunch there. Oh, we eat there other times during the year, but always on make sure and stop by for that special lunch. We arrived for our Christmas Eve lunch at 11:20 and were seated immediately. We both ordered the Sicilian Salad, a favorite of ours. In my opinion, the star of the restaurant though is the bread. Fresh and warm, with the perfect crispy crust and chewy inside. One large chunks of garlic. It is served with a bowl of olive oil with fresh shredded parmesan cheese in it. I could make a meal of this bread alone. We eat every last bite and have to use every bit of our willpower not to ask for more. The Sicilian Salad is the perfect accompaniment to the bread. It is a blend of lettuce and orzo, this time a bit heavier on the lettuce. It is dotted with tomatoes, chicken, capers, artichoke hearts and feta, all perfectly balanced. I don’t think we could eat anything heavier with all the bread we consumed. We enjoyed the view, the salad, the bread, everything.

I have held off eating here for years because rumors that it is expensive and the food is not great. It is certainly not expensive. I can’t believe so many people have said that. The menu is on here. My wife and I got two meals and a whole bottle of wine and our bill was $ 50.01. That’s NOT expensive. It would’ve been just over $ 20 without the wine. The bread is very good, and our food was pretty good and very fresh. My wife got some kind of crawfish alfredo pasta that was very good, and I got baked penne with Italian sausage. Mine was pretty good, but could’ve been better. No complaints here.

One of my favorite spots in Chattanooga and absolutely one of my top 3 for pasta! You really cannot error with any selection. My favorites have always been the lobster ravioli, any of the create your own dishes, and the tetrazzini. It’s all homemade and unpretentious. Good date night spot!

While the rest of our party of seven really enjoyed their meals, mine was very disappointing. My Low Country Linguine had only a few microscopic mushrooms and crawfish. Those I found were overcooked and rubbery. My soft drink was flat and I did not get a refill until I finished my meal. We also asked the inattentive staff to turn up the heat but were either ignored or their equipment was incapable and we all kept our winter coats on throughout the meal. The one highlight was the bread and olive oil, which was excellent.

I ate here on my yearly visit back home. Upon being seated you are giving a fresh hand made bread. It’s not fantastic but better than the chain restaurants offer. The menu is not overwhelming with choices in your standard Italian categories. Pasta is made in house and is luck of the draw on how well it’s cooked. My dish was cooked just over aldente the wife’s was a touch over cooked. I will come back unless the reviews start to fall in the poor side
