The creative burgers are very good. I prefer Tremont but that’s probably personal preference. The atmosphere is great, the bar is a fun spot to grab drinks, and the location is very convenient.

It was my first time being at The Urban Stack, and it will be my last time at The Urban Stack! The food was average, the service was horrible. My finance’s and I overall experience was just so terrible. When we first got there, we were excited. We love to try new things. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait and she gave us a buzzer. Well almost an hour went by and no table! My fiancé finally pointed out that they were seating people who arrived after us. I asked the hostess how much longer and she plainly said, «oh, we’ve been buzzing you.». Are you kidding me. They didn’t bother to call our name out or anything. And what topped the cake was we were sitting two feet away from them THEWHOLETIME. 20 minutes later we were finally seated. Food was okay. My fiancé didn’t like his burger so we ended up switching. Our server was not a good one. She was too quiet, and we couldn’t hear because the place is small and crowed. I asked if fried were a side or extra, she responded with a nod. We were recommend pickles, assuming fried of course, and they were most definitely not fried. Waste of $ 5. Server never brought me anything I asked her. It was just aweful. Waste or $ 40. They’re lucky I’m giving them any stars at all!

Urban Stack Burger Lounge is very much in the modern burger joint tradition, with plenty of variety and sides as long as they are some variation of burgers and fries. Obviously, at a spot like this, you have one mission, and that’s the burger. Thankfully, it was very good. The sauce was tasty, the meat was juicy and cooked properly, it had some interesting flavor and was quite nice. Unfortunately, the sides were average at best if not actively bad. I have to think something when wrong in preparing the dipping sauce for the fries, because I took one bite and was all set for the night. The fries themselves weren’t too great either — bland and a few were even soggy. Potato skins were similarly mediocre, a bit bland, though I’m in the minority on that opinion. The high ceilings and open spaces are de rigeur these days, but in this case, it caused a little bit of an echo chamber effect that made it surprisingly loud. When you add in the uncomfortable booth where I was smacked in the back every time the fellow behind me thumped back in after an epic bout of going to the bar and returning from the bar, it meant I wasn’t really able to relax all that well. So the core burger is excellent, and I get why folks love it. But there’s a lot of work to be done in the rest of the experience before I’d call it a winner.

Our food was awesome. N. Carolina Burger and Good Day Sunshine Burger along with the smokin hot pimento cheese dip. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Brooke is a waitress. Brooke is a good waitress. You should ask for Brooke to be your waitress.

Not the place for burgers. Go to Tremont for burgers. Fried stuff is soft and greasy. Bad parking but the patio area is nice for drinks.

Always great! The Asian Q… I get it every time. Sriracha on the side, though…

I’m completely blown away by this place! Let me start by saying I eat like a bird, all my friends make fun of me because I can never finish my food and I always get to go boxes. I ate the burger here and still wanted more it was so good! I got the the Italian burger and it was so fresh and had salami and provolone on it. I regret not taking a picture but I was just too excited to eat it. One downside of this place though is that fries are an extra $ 3, they’re not included with the burger. Other than that this restaurant had a really cool interior and was absolutely delicious!

I would like to applaud Urban Stack for being one of the very few restaurants(in my opinion) to be open on a Sunday in Chattanooga. We stopped by shortly after they were open(11AM) and were instantly seated. I ordered the Asian Q which was an American Kobe style Wagyu beef with wasabi slaw, cucumber kimchee and an amazing Asian ginger BBQ sauce. I thought it was one of the best flavor profiles Ive ever had on a burger. And I absolutely loved that they cooked it medium rare like I asked. It was perfectly pink. I am giving this place 4 stars because I still stand that fries should come with a burger. Im a jerk. I know. The sweet potato fries were great. Definitely sweet… as they were dusted with sugar. Word on the street is that Urban stack and its sister restaurant Milk and Honey are headed to Nashville.

This restaurant is all about buns… as in they make heir own bread and there is an excess of man buns on too of wait staff. Besides that, the restaurant looks great and they are super friendly. Being an out of tower, I asked for a recommendation and was told to try the Italian burger. You wouldn’t think that you would like a burger topped with salami but boy was I wrong! The cheese was melty and with some amazing sweet potato fries(probably the best I’ve ever had) I was good to go! If I’m ever back in the area I would definitely give this place another visit.

Great burgers. Respectable prices. I’ve had the mamacita burger twice and love it. Topped with chorizo and avocado. The pimento cheese dip is great, my wife doesn’t eat pimento cheese but she partook(partaked?, had partaken?)

Took my wife here because a friend of mine suggested I meet them for lunch. It was so good that I had to share this place with her when she came into town. I had the chili hamburger with onion rings. The burger was great, but I thought the bun was to big for the burger so I took the top bun off. The onion rings were the best I and my wife had ever tasted. They were hand made and were only $ 3.00. My wife had the fried green tomato burger and she loved it as well. She took the top bun off to. She also got the Gouda cream corn. This stuff is what you could eat as a meal, it was soooo good. I almost forgot to tell you about the potato skins. They were different from what I mostly care for but very good. We are going to try some other restaurants in the Chattanooga area but this is our new favorite.

Burgers are good, salads are even better! Love the kale salad so much it’s ridiculous. Good beers to choose from and the burger selection is inventive.

I have been here a few times for lunch but never for dinner. I was there with family on Saturday night around 6PM. It was 5 adults and one munchkin(11 months old). They have tables, booths, outside seating and a bar in the back; which I did not really get a good look at it. Outside seating does not have any overhead heaters. It is a rustic place with cobblestone sidewalk in front. It has street parking with parking meters, which I hate but don’t have to pay after 530 I think and never on Sunday. The menu pretty much is focused on burgers and fries. The burger and sandwich selection is extensive and if you can’t find the burger you like here, it doesn’t exist. We had the potato skins for an appetizer and I think they are the best I have had and in fact, I decided to eat them for my main meal. They have a full bar and a great selection of draft beer. They have standard selection along with a rotating group. I had the flight which consisted of four, five ounce samples of beer for 9 dollars. Big River gives you about 28 – 32 ounces for a dollar less. just sayin!!! LOL… But they were good. For the 5 and ½ of us to eat and drink it came to about 125 dollars so not too cheap but that is what we get for drinking adult beverages. The burgers are great, the fries are OK and the potato skins are awesome. It is a great casual dinner experience with great burgers, good beer and wait staff is on the ball… I have to give it a solid four! Bring your out of town guest, they will enjoy it.

OK, so this was our second visit… the first visit was just ok. Unfortunately, neither wifey or I can remember why we said, just ok. As for this visit… it was very good… bordering on excellent! Service…fantastic…we sat at the bar at a very busy time… and got served immediately… all in all, very good service… in every way… Burgers…I got the Chicago Burger… toppings were ALL spot on… excellent flavor profile… and tasted like a Chicago Hot Dog, only with a VERY good burger on it! As I just said, the burger itself was excellent! The meat had a great beefy flavor… and was cooked medium, just as ordered! So you know… my burger had… fried bologna(kind of the«hot dog» on this burger), celery salted tomato(yummy! the best part!), cherry pepper relish(bit of spice), sport peppers(TONS of them…), yellow mustard(background flavor), chopped onion and celery mayo… Wifey got the Fried Green Tomato on a lettuce wrap… and Bibb lettuce was HUGE! it covered the plate!!! Very cool!!! On hers, she had… Fried Green Tomato(duh!), sharp yellow cheese, lettuce, white vinegar mayo and Benton’s Bacon(she had the remoulade left off). For the toppings, we both agree that this goes in our top 5 burger lists! I had some fries… and they were the now common skin on fries… but cooked extra crispy and very good! You also get a small container of their Fire and Ice Pickles… also VERY good! So…with this second visit, I can now heartily recommend this venue… but…be aware… it is often VERY crowded!

I came to Urban Stack with Ms Stephanie T( Unilocal Chattanooga herself!) for a bite to eat after a long afternoon of event errands. Actually — let’s be honest — a bite to eat is an understatement. We feasted, thanks to Steph, who knew exactly what kind of Southern sides this native New Englander was craving! We opted out of the burgers and instead shared some glorious bacon-jalapeño pimento cheese dip, housemade pickles and pickled veggies, plus a delectable fried chicken sandwich for me and a lovely looking farmhouse salad brimming with veggies for Stephanie. To top it all off, we split a carafe of absurdly refreshing bourbon spiked orange mint tea. So incredibly necessary on a 90 degree day. It’s also worth noting that everything is made in house including the dressings(strawberry balsamic, roasted red pepper vinaigrette, sweet Vidalia onion, etc). Service was on point and all of the food was outstanding. Not to mention the fact that it was a stone’s throw from my hotel. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Love Urban Stack for many reasons. First, their salad. Even just a side salad is a great meal. Full of different veggies than you usually find. Sugar peas, beets, grilled corn, oven roasted tomatoes. C’mon. Where do you find those type of ingredients in a side salad? You can upgrade this salad to a entrée and even add meat. This is how I eat at Urban Stack: Order apps, then a side salad and one of their other sides, usually mac and cheese. Then I’m full. I get a burger sometimes, but really I’m all about the appetizers and sides. Appetizers like their house-made pimento cheese dip with house made potato chips, the pickle plate(yum), the bologna sliders, etc. I also had the carafe of the High Tea, which is house-made orange-mint tea, with fruit juices and bourbon. Hello??? Shut the front door this stuff is good. Wish I was sitting on a big wrap around porch fanning myself and drinking my ice cold High Tea, fiddly-dee. And even better, the carafe is only $ 15! So come for the burgers, sure, but also come for all the other great stuff they have.

Off the hook burgers! I was very pleased to stop in on a Monday. I got the good morning burger with Kobe beef. One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. So glad to have found this place. Décor is great and atmosphere is causal but upscale. Kid friendly also.

This is my favorite burger in chatt.(That isn’t a food truck). The last couple times I came here I got the steakhouse burger and can’t seem to order anything else. It is a generous size, cooked with just a little pink(exactly as our server described). It is juicy, nicely seasoned and perfectly topped. Mine had a yummy smokey BBQ sauce, and zippy horseradish, cheddar cheese, bacon and an onion ring. It is a fantastic combination of flavors. Their buns are light, fluffy, soft and never stale. Fries are seasoned and perfectly cooked. Atmosphere is definitely casual, urban hipster. Very comfortable. Another reason I love coming here is my cousin designed all the menus and signage… He has since moved away but is still here through his artwork in many chatt eateries.

«Dude. It’s a burger.» — Supernatural: Season 8, Episode 1 Talk about needing to attend an Overeaters Anonymous meeting — OMG we ate… and ate… and ate. And did I mention that we ate??? I had walked past here on a business trip and had bookmarked it but had no idea when I would be back in Chattanooga. As we were driving back from a concert a friend found it by searching Unilocal and when we walked in the door I realized it was the very place I had bookmarked had wanted to visit. We were tired and starving, and the wait was 45 minutes. We didn’t really care as it smelled really good inside — we figured by the time we found some place else, we would be seated at USBL. The place is laid out in a couple of rooms — the first has some large booths thru the center and some smaller ones along the side walls. The second room has a bar with stools and then has some more booths and then a large table with stools. If there is more to the place, I never saw it. The bathrooms are pretty nice, large stalls, clean, and nice facilities. Once we were seated, we were placed at a very large booth in the center in the first room — there were only four of us. This allowed us plenty of space for us to order an insane amount of food… did I mention we ate a lot? We ordered some apps — the homemade pickle plate, the fried bologna sliders and the hot pimento cheese dip. I’ve never seen fried bologna on a menu, so it was a must! Having grown up in the South, this is a staple. The sliders were delightful! There were 4 — so we all got one. They had melted American cheese on them and a side of Dijonnaise. I kind of wish there were more than 4 of them. The cheese dip was also amazing — the gooey goodness was highly addictive and I couldn’t stop attacking it. I started dipping the pickles in it, but it came with some delightful potato chips that were also awesome. The pickles were good, but I preferred them dipped in the pimento cheese instead of on their own. As for my burger, I opted for the Mushroom Melt with my side being the Mac and cheese. I loved the major mushroominess of my burger — YES, I invented a word, but you get my drift. Lots and lots of mushrooms. I had a mound of mushrooms on my burger, all sautéed and chopped on top and under the provolone cheese. There was a house sauce, oven-dried tomatoes and and a marsala reduction sauce. All together it was like a trip to France with all those flavors — it was delightful. The mac and cheese was pretty good, but nothing outside the ordinary. Someone else got the Gouda creamed corn, which was much more exciting than my mac & cheese. I did decide(because I am crazy and thought I could ingest the entire menu) to order a milkshake — Orange Creamsicle(virgin). It was awesome, but I could only drink half so I took the rest with us. How I ate all that food — no idea… well, because it was delicious! I’m pretty spoiled with the burgers in Atlanta, but for being on a road trip and craving a burger — this was excellent!

I may have pigged out a bit while eating at Urban Stack Burger Lounge. I just couldn’t help myself. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. We stopped in for dinner on our way back to Atlanta. We ended up having to wait about 30 minutes. Not too bad for prime time on Saturday night. While we were waiting, we realized that they are in the same group as Milk & Honey — the place we stopped to grab breakfast earlier in the day. Milk & Honey is great! Pure coincidence. They sat us in one of the huge booths lining the middle of the dining room. My eyes were definitely way bigger than my belly when I was trying to decide what to eat. We started off with the fried bologna sliders, hot pimento cheese dip, and the house made pickle plate. The fried bologna sliders were amazing. Yes, I ate bologna. Sometimes, I get this crazy hankering for some fried bologna with ooey gooey melty cheese. These sliders hit the spot. They had the ooey gooey melty cheese(American) with a side of dijonnaise. I slathered on the dijonnaise and it was perfection. The pimento cheese dip was equally as addictive. They serve the dip with potato chips, although we slathered the dip on anything we could — fries, pickles. The house made pickles were actually I really, really wanted to try the Big Mike. This is USBL’s take on the Big Mac. Unfortunately, it comes with two 1⁄3 pound patties. After ordering all of that stuff to start off with, I thought that I would probably explode and not be able to eat much of it so I ended up ordering the Big Cheese. This is your basic burger with choice of cheese. I went with the cheddar. The burger was probably my least favorite item that I ate. It might be because I went with the basic burger instead of some fancy special one. But, I do feel that a burger place should have great burgers even if you get the most basic burger on the menu. Overall, I really enjoyed eating here. I’d like to come back the next time I’m in town and try a different burger(maybe the Big Mike) and see if it fares any better.
