There’s no better place to eat in Chauvin. Their burgers are outstanding, they have great fried seafood, and you can’t ask for nicer people. They also have great trailers trend for the night, which are much nicer than your average fishing accommodations. Definitely recommend this place.

The best fried shrimp hands down. Food is consistently delicious and worth the 15 minute drive from Houma.

Gumbo is so good! I’m not a huge shrimp fan, but it’s so fresh that I couldn’t help but love it. The French bread is great, too. This is a small place, and we went for an early lunch and we were seated quickly. Friendly staff and good food — 5 stars in my book.

Not big on the fried but when you are in the south you must have it. Excellent seafood and authentic cajun and creole dishes. View is outstanding. Wonderful southern hospitality and service. A bit slow on the service but I didnt care because I was enjoying the beautiful gulf.

Pretty much the only place to eat down in Chauvin, but I always look forward to going there on my way to Cocodrie. Their fried shrimp is butterflied and lightly battered. Their gumbo is delicious. The service was friendly and they treat you like family once they recognize your face.

Sportsman’s Paradise is a hotel, restaurant and fishing charter marina. We were in Chauvin and decided to eat lunch here. The lunch was pretty good. The service was mediocre. We ordered shrimp gumbo, bronzed shrimp, a shrimp platter, a shrimp salad and an oyster po-boy. The shrimp gumbo was very good. Although it was a only a cup, it had a good amount of large shrimp. The shrimp platter was very good as well. The shrimp were butterflied(I prefer non-butterflied) and fried perfectly. The platter came loaded with fries and four pieces of toast. The shrimp salad had homemade ranch which was excellent. The bronzed shrimp and po-boy both looked good, but I didn’t try either. Our server seemed disinterested and never brought some of our party utensils. She wasn’t very friendly either. The food made up for the poor service. If your in Chauvin, and want a good seafood meal, head to Sportsman’s paradise. I should also mention that they sell really cool t-shirts. The shirts list several famous cities and have a recognizable image for each city. Check the photos and you will see one.
