Candymakers

For a candy-​making place I was quite disappointed in the small number of colors they had available in the melting wafers!!! Michael’s had twice the amount for a better price. Their new location in the Airport Plaza is easier to get to, but the store is set up quite awkwardly (presentation is everything!) and the employees there are not friendly at all. I was the only one in there and the neither of the two people working asked me if they could help! They didn’t even acknowledge I was in the store! For candy molds and accessories they have a decent selection. I also humbly suggest they carry more items used for candy/​chocolate gift presentation like vellum/​parchment papers, ribbons, gift tags, etc. and more displays.
Meh.

They have everything you could possible need to make your candies. Molds for any, and I mean any occasion, fillings, flavors, chocolates of ever color, even sponge to make your own sponge candy, a wide assortment of boxes, and bags, even truffle containers. Anything you may need to make your candies they have it. The staff is also extremely knowledgeable, and are happy to explain how to make any of the molds they have there.

Now, My mother started going here in the 80’s. I guess there was a fire in a store close to them, then they moved. They are actually on Genesee and not on Union.
As soon as I found that they were still in business, I ran there as fast as I could. I am in the process of building my mold collection.
All four walls (and a little alcove) are lined with molds (of which I’m sure, some change for the season/​holiday). There is even a section with a couple of boxes of molds that are on sale.
Molds range from $ 1-​up. With most being around $ 2.50.
They carry Merkin chocolate at VERY good prices. Along with almost anything else you would need for candy making. Their oils are wonderfully priced, as are their boxes and wrap, and foils.
It really is a one stop shop. A MUST if you are a candy maker!
