I pass through the Chehalis area a few times each week and have stopped by the Great Clips just off the Chamber Way exit a few times. In the past I have been made to feel welcomed and have had courteous and friendly service. However, recently I stopped by a few minutes before they opened. I sat in my car waiting for them to open. At 3 minutes until opening, I noticed the door was unlocked, so I went in. It’s always been my observation that an unlocked front door is a signal a company is ready for business. The moment I walked in, I sat down. An employee immediately told me they weren’t open for 15 more minutes, even though my cell phone said it was only a couple of minutes until opening time. I was harshly told I had to leave immediately and that they had«cash» on the counter. I would almost put money on a bet that this woman has worked in law enforcement or the local prison. Very tough and harsh. Normally a salon that appreciates your business would greet you with a «welcome to Great Clips, but I have to ask you to wait outside a few more minutes before we are ready to open.» So of course I walked out, went to a competitor and will never return. This employee should be trained how to be courteous to clients. It’s too bad that one bad apple spoils business for the other courteous employees. My advice? Keep the door locked until you are ready to welcome clients! Want an example of a local company that treats customers well? Walk into Loves Travel Shop Exit 72I5 and see how friendly they are to everyone who walks in the door. They could give lessons on how to make customers feel appreciated.
