The baristas are always friendly and thoughtful. Their Coffee is awesome. Get a scone! They are delicious and I think they make them there. Cheaper and better than Sbux. Added bonus-they usually have doggie treats in the drive through.

Coffee Legend is one of the only coffee shops in the area and I’ve never had a bad experience there. It gets crowded at times with people coming up from Wapato Point, but they always do their best to move through the line fast. It’s also one of the only places with wifi, so I have been there multiple times to get a coffee and take care of some work in the morning, and they’re always very friendly and have no problem with people just sitting and hanging out for awhile.

My friend and I got up earlier then our other friend so we popped out of our nearby hotel room at the Mountain View Lodge to grab breakfast. I know… what great friends we are to eat breakfast without her! You snooze, you lose… literally. Anyway, since Coffee Legend was right across the parking lot we stepped inside. There were a few guys in there reading the paper and talking about the latest news and weather but the general layout is clean. I like the hardwood floors. We were greeted by a nice female barista who didn’t seem bothered at all that we were indecisive and were basically himhawing around trying to rule out what we didn’t want to get since everything looked so good and fresh. I opted for a cinnamon roll and a kiddy frozen cotton candy drink. My friend opted to give me the spiel a parent gives their child about drinking massive amounts of sugar in the morning, but needless to say I still slammed by frozen drink and was all sugared up to start my 2nd day in chelan. The friend I went with is actually a barista at another coffee stand chose to get an Americano. She likes to «taste» her coffee or whatever. For me, the more sugar the better. Cream or milk? Yes please. She also had no complaints about her coffee and she should know. Anyway, this is a cute place to sit in the morning and read the paper and just chill out and gab and gossip if you’re an olé foagie. I wish they had a couch in there or more tables to fill up the entrance space but whatever. At least we didn’t have to drive into the actual town of Chelan to get a quick bite to eat in the morning.

Latte was scalded the first time I went. Figured I’d give them a second chance. Waited in line for 30 minutes before getting another latte that was so scalded it was undrinkable, and too hot to even carry with a sleeve. Seriously wish I would’ve made the effort to drive a little farther to have a drinkable cup of coffee in the morning.

I really like the changes new owner, Doc Hoyt is making to the Coffee Legend. One big change will take place on January 1, 2014 when the name is changed to Doc’s House Coffee Company. He wants Doc’s House to become the«Hangout» for folks living or just visiting Manson. It’s a wonderful place to have a meeting, close a deal on a home or just meet up with friends over a cup of coffee. Doc’ also wants this to be a «Hangout» for students in the Chelan Valley. On Monday and Wednesday nights from 4 to 7 a time for students to do their homework, use the free Internet, watch TV and even bring their XDox along. He will furnish drip coffee for free. On Fridays any student with a school activity card will receive 50% off on coffee and food. What a great opportunity for our youth. Doc is also now serving a Continental Breakfast and many people staying at the Mountain View Lodge are taking advantage of the great deal…$ 5.00! Stop in and say hello to Doc.

Went to this place for an iced latte several days ago, and while the drinks themselves were fine, I think that the employees here need a little customer service training. The shop was very busy(the ChelanMan event was going on) and while I understand being a little flustered(I’ve worked as a barista before for many years), there was an older gentleman working there that was obviously annoyed when I changed my drink order, even though they hadn’t started making anything yet. He rolled his eyes and stated«Well now we can’t use that cup because it already has writing on it. We’ll just have to hope somebody comes in and orders another soy latte today». You’re annoyed, ok, I understand that, but you don’t need to show your customers, especially when it’s something that isn’t that big of a deal. Have you ever heard of just crossing out the little«S» you wrote on there? This old grouch probably shouldn’t be working in customer service.

Another happy nugget moment for the sheer convenience of this place… There’s nothing better to me than waking up in the morning, greeting Chelan and walking over to grab a latte… and maybe lazing around on their patio. Their beans are nothing to rave about but they have a pretty good drink selection. The BFF always goes with something blended and has been pretty satisfied with the handful of choices he has had. I’ve always stuck with the lattes and found them to be pretty good. Their breakfast paninnis are tasty — I suggest the ham — and a good size just to fight the hunger pangs before the bbq.

We tried this place because it was just a short walk from our condo, and it turned out to be a great little date nook! The coffee was yummy– we both got the Manson Mocha, one ice blended and the other hot, and loved it– but we are no coffee snobs. You just have to try what is recommended to you at these little local places; don’t go in expecting your usual favorite Starbucks drink. There were some yummy-looking breakfast and lunch paninis we hope to try. The Baristas are friendly(but everyone out here seems nice compared to our So-cal grumpies) and the atmosphere is comfy– lost of games and newspapers lying around. There is Wi-fi(free?)… everyone else in the place was using the internet. We will definitely be going back!

I like the employees here(they are very nice) but the coffee is less than stellar. I left pretty disappointed and likely won’t be going back unless I’m not getting coffee. The hot cocoa was solid(how can you go wrong) and I have no knowledge of their summer drink offerings.

So I went back twice to this place and even though it was only because they were the closest place open, the baristas were more competent both those times. I think it’s fair to give three stars, even if they are three weak stars. By the way, their beans are from Dillanos in Sumner, WA, so even though I don’t particularly liked the beans, it pleases me to see they go with a local roaster.
