Had a horrible experience with Lakeside Heating & Air; specifically with Brandon. I had him come out to help assess the layout of a wood stove in new construction. He assured me that it’s placement would allow the stove pipe to go straight up to the ceiling, then bend in the attic, and come up near the ridge of our cabin so as to not have to worry about snow sliding and knocking it over. He told me exactly where to cut the whole in the metal roofing, and where to frame into the ceiling for the stove pipe. Then, after 3 missed installation appointments(over the course of 3 weeks, so a delay of nearly a month), he showed up with the stove & chimney pipe and said that he’d been wrong; the angle wouldn’t allow it all fit int he attic, and that it would need to be dropped down below the ceiling about 6 inches. I would need to build a 6″ box extended from the ceiling which would enclose the piece as it angled. After another week’s delay, he came up and did the install, but had been wrong again. Not sure where he had the idea from that 6″ would do it; the angle required my stove pipe to bend at the chimney pipe nearly 36″ below the ceiling. No apology, attempt to fix the obvious aesthetic issue, nothing. He did assure me though that when I was ready(after drywall install and painting) that he’d have an oblong collar that would fit around the angled chimney pipe where it goes through the drywall. Again– my general contractor has left numerous message for him as we need that now, and can’t get a call back. I did contact the company to complain directly about the issue, and was told, by an apparent manager, «sorry, that’s Brandon’s department». Of every Chelan trade I’ve used in constructing this project, they were all great EXCEPT Lakeside.(Went with Keen Climate for the rest of HVAC system, and they’ve been great too).
