I’ve been a patient there for over two years. It was a constant battle to get messages to Dr. Travassos. He was a great Doctor but he chose to believe his office staff over me when there are the same complaints here. Also if you check patient reviews on vitals for every doctor in that place they have the same complaints about the office staff. I trusted him with my care and he was so icy and cold to me because I was advocating for myself. It looks like I need surgery now. Hopefully the last two months of being denied care from that office didn’t make things worse. If you value your health you will look else where. There are tons of GIs!

Yesterday I had my first appointment with Dr. James H. Reichheld at Digestive Health Specialists in Chelmsford for my colitis. I got his name from the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America website . My appointment was scheduled for 2 pm, but I got a call from the doctor’s office at 12 trying to cancel the appointment. The receptionist informed me that the doctor was stuck«doing procedures at the hospital», but she managed to squeeze me in for the last appointment of the day at 4:45 pm. I arrived early at 4:30 pm with all my paper work filled out & all my medical records, but the nurse did NOT call my name until about 5:20 pm. The nurse took my height, weight, pulse, & blood pressure. I then waited until 5:45 pm before Dr. Reichheld came to see me. The wait time was my only complaint, but I have waited much longer to see a specialist before. The doctor was very apologetic about making me wait & his constant sneezing(he had a cold). He seemed very knowledgeable & he told me that crohn’s & colitis are his specialties. He took his time asking me lots of questions about my particular symptoms & medical history. He met with me for almost an hour. He answered all my questions in detail. He was very kind & caring. Overall he seems like a good doctor I just wish the wait had been shorter.
