Service a 5, atmosphere and cleanliness a 5, food a 3 so i am giving a 3 this review. I ordered the breakfast that consisted of biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and 2 sausage links… everything was good but the biscuits and gravy! The biscuits where soft little hockey pucks and the gravy was not homemade, it tasted like it was a powder mix and it left an after taste in my mouth. My dad had the special which was 3 eggs, american fries, 2 sausage patties and 2 pieces of toast. A lot of food for the cost but they never get their american fries done enough in my opinion. Had several breakfast items here in the past and they are just average. Bought a whole apple pie for $ 18 here a few visits ago and got it home and ended up having to bake it an extra hour to get the apples done. I have just realized over my past few visits its just an ok place to eat but with great service.

The place was busy, on a Friday night… I came in by myself just driving thru town. Got seated right away, bus boy was awesome. Got me coffee and water right away… Had the all you can eat fish fry. Came with salad and potato. Was good but not out of this world. Fish a little bland. But unlike other AYCE things… They don’t make guy wait forever for more… Waitress was on it right away as brought more before I needed it. If I lived here I would come often.

Point and pick. Never had a bad meal in here. Good morning dishes, lunch, dinner. Greek, Italian, American. Not upscale, right down the middle family restaurant. Solid good food, good prices, good portions. Has room for 5 plus big trucks in the back. Always a good stop when I’m rolling I 55.

Soooooo terrible. Nice people but could barely choke down the food. I ordered a simple cheeseburger and literally got sick that night. My dad ordered a gyro and as he’s ordering, the waitress corrects his pronunciation and says«jie-row»…ummm it’s a greek dish, miss… pronounced«eee-ro». The rest of my family also got sick that night after eating there. Anyway, food is below mediocre and the veggies taste CANNED and not fresh. Yuck. I have heard great things about dessert though but have never tried the pies myself, so those might be homemade and maybe good based on what other reviewers have said. But avoid lunch/dinner food and fruits/veggies!!! Not high quality ATALL. And again, the staff did seem very friendly… they do try at small-town hospitality.

Great restaurant! Very friendly family run restaurant!! Place was busy but still got served quick, food was amazing, huge portions we had the Chicken Alfredo and Baked Cod and the prices were great as well. Must save room for dessert as all the pies where home made and delicious. The bus boy was one of the best I’ve seen, very hardworking guy, as was our waiter who gave us excellent service! We will definitely be back!!!

The food was average(at best). The service was okay, but it took a long time to get our food. A man who I assumed was the owner was there. He was very abusive to his employees, even made one of the servers cry. The bus boy, who was working his tail off couldn’t seem to make the man happy. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. We won’t be going back.

Well that was delightful! We were a large party(9) but they seated us right away. Courtney, our server took great care of us and put up with our noisy crew. The food was great, and SAVEROOMFORPIE! The price was more than worth the value of the meal. I highly recommend it.

Good basic food. Husband had tuna sandwich and I had chef salad. Service was fast and pleasant. Knew this was a much better choice by the cars parked out front. Portions are large. We could not finish it all.

This place is just homey and comfortable. Wide varieties of food from fried chicken to club sandwiches to fish platters and even stir-frys. Every meal usually comes with sides to choose and is always too much food for one sitting. The waitresses have always been friendly, always smiling, and very helpful. Of special note is the bus boy(I wish I knew his name) He is such a hard working guy; clearing tables, getting drinks, cups, tableware, etc. I’ve never seen someone hustle as much as him. Kudos to him!

I went back home to Pontiac and family told me I had to try fried chicken! Yum yum… it was awesome! Hand battered and fried. Well worth the drive from Pontiac. Cheap too! The creamy chicken and rice soup was very good. They have several flavors of homemade pie! I tasted the peach and it was awesome! Skip the chocolate cream it kind of tasted like instant pudding. And most importantly… Skip Baby Bulls in Pontiac. This place was so good we had to return. Please keep in mind this is not the Ritz! Just a great family diner. :-)

Okay, small place with a large menu means … Pre-processed food. If your okay with that, then you’ll be fine. New building and friendly service as noted, but food is bland. My Pepsi tasted off– bar water, ice, or water. Chocolate pie was good. I would not come again if there were other options.

Anyone passing through or within 30 minutes of this family restaurant needs to stop, take a break, and enjoy a peaceful delicious meal. Parking is plenty, well paved and well lit. Inside is clean and welcoming. We were there for an evening meal. I’d love to try breakfast. The menu is amazing. The food was delicious — it even looked delicious! The fries were just right — not-over cooked or over-salted(two of my pet peeves). You could tell the food was prepared in a clean kitchen. At least it felt that way. The staff and our waitress were both friendly and attentive. From now on when we travel from Chicago burbs to Peoria, this is our go-to place for a meal. Thank you!

Their new building opened last month and it’s really wonderful. Inside feels open, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and the food comes out very quickly. While the menu is huge, with a little something for everyone; what I would really recommend are the soups. Each day their are 2 soup specials which are tasty and homemade.

The fried chicken is amazing and well worth the 20 min wait. Outside crisp and not greasy, the inside meat was moist and tender. The coating did not compete with the taste of the chicken. The mashed were real, just like Mom used to make. Our server was courteous and attentive. The only reason I did not score this place a 5 star was the décor. The décor is old and very outdated.

Charming family restaurant with nice folks inside it, but I wasn’t there to eat the scenery or the staff so… Trying to eat healthy is not so easy when you are driving across the middle of the country. But this place had one of those huge menus so I knew I was bound to at least find a salad without fried things in it. What I decided on, though, was the grilled tilapia. Sounds healthy, right? «Grilled tilapia.» What came out might have been grilled but only after it was breaded and fried. For the record, I saw no «Breaded and fried tilapia» on the menu, either, so it’s not like they got my order mixed up. Chenoa, you done me wrong.

Looking at the outside of the building, you would not think much of this restaurant. It has a sign with a hen on it. So out of pure curiosity, I stopped on for breakfast. I’m so glad I did. Here everything tasted homemade and fresh. I had eggs, ham and potatoes in a skillet and it was yummy. The waitresses are friendly and make you feel like you lived in this tiny community all your life. Did I mention the prices? Unbelievably cheap with good quality. 7.95 for steak and eggs. You can’t go wrong! So if you’re like me, get cooped up and need to drive in the country, head out to Chenoa. It’s a hidden gem that can’t be missed.
