What a welcomed sight to Chenoa! After the IGA closed you were left to go to Fairbury/Pontiac/Bloomington if you needed something, that or hope that the Shell/Caseys’ had a bag of chips, but alas you would pay $ 5 – 6 for the«convenience». But then Dollar General opened and shined a ray of hope on a grocery-less town. Really quite convenient. I mean they will have probably 40−50% of what you need. But lets be honest, your going to Walmart for most of your items 1 – 2 times a month anyways. But say you run out of sugar, or you need some bread, or even a gallon of milk, it’s alot easier to just run to Dollar General and grab it than make the pilgrimage to Walmart. We needed this store years ago when the High School was open. Glad to have it now.
