This is the quintessential townie bar. Really good selection of alcohol. Nice sized wrap around bar. Food is typical bar food: wings/tenders/moz sticks/fries– all of which is good. Pizza and sandwiches supplied from Athens pizza and they too are tasty. They have pool tables inside, and horse shoes and volleyball outside. Most Friday’s they have a band. Great bar for those who ride bikes as well. Owner and staff are very friendly and fun– they make you feel very welcome. Great jukebox as well. Highly recommend you stop for one. As their slogan goes– you might find yourself staying until 1 :)

Nice local bar. Mostly older and bikers. Grata backyard where I’ve seen some good bands. Wouldn’t spend the evening here but a good stopover.

Great prices Huge backyard with two volleyball courts, horseshoes, drinking games, fire pit Great staff that are very friendly Great place to be on a weekend afternoon, there literally is a ton of stuff to do, it’s like a 4th of July cookout every day of summer.

I want to like it Pros: Clean Spacious Bar Cool Outdoor Space Friendly good looking bar staff Cons: Terrible Food Location(nothing around) I first waked in and really dug this bar, big bar, and the staff was super friendly. We grab a beer and order 4 apps. While we’re waiting for food a bike stop happens and 100 bikers rush the place. The staff did a great job dealing with the rush. Now the issue, we get the food. Awful! Wing dings soft and sloppy buffalo, mexi sticks with no cheese in them, pulled pork fries with pork that tastes like maple syrup. Maple syrup in pulled pork? No good. Lastly some really terrible empinatas. If you goto this place only order drinks and admire the ladies behind the bar. BEWARE of the food. Thanks

They are just starting breakfast, so this is reflective of day 1. I will be giving them another shot in a month or so and will update. But, in the mean time they have some work to do. The positives: 1) The wait staff and owner are very friendly and were interested in feedback. 2) The pancakes were really, really good. Compared to most of the other places in and around RI, these are tops. 3) Coffee is really good. I think they have some special blend 4) Home fries are above average The areas for improvement: 1) The menu needs help. They have a good selection of items, but the names are in bright yellow. With the lighting, you can not read them without squinting and some other contortions. 2) The cook needs to get organized. It took an hour to get out pancakes, an omelet and French toast. They also came out so spaced apart, the daughter had finished her pancakes before the omelet arrived and French Toast was cold 3) They use locally sourced things, so thumbs up. But when you use a thick cut of bacon/pork belly you need to render it down and still cook it before you stick in something. Even if it is smoked. When I got my omelet, about 2⁄3 of the bacon was really chopped up fat. I am not opposed to bacon fat, but this was over the top and it was very lazy So, all of these things are fixable and I am sure the chef is new out of school. I believe they were also dealing with a new stove. So I will give them a pass this time. The owner and waitress were very empathetic and apologetic. They had a good crowed so I believe they have some usual’s that are part of the evening bar crowed. So they have a base that will give them some latitude. I hope that they can pull it together because I think there is some good promise here.

In the spirit of even-handedness and giving credit where credit is due, Stick’s gets a begrudging 2 from me. I’m not sure if my experience was indicative of the norm but I couldn’t let it go by without some commentary. On one hand, I have to give praise for the good selection of alcohol and the low prices. Any bar that carries both Smirnoff Ice and Twisted Tea opens itself up to a demographic of folks who, generally speaking, aren’t ordering what’s on tap. Stick’s does just that and reaps the reward of a full, diverse crowd of college kids, townie twenty somethings, and happy hour socializers among a solid stream of regulars of every demographic. The food is decent but not anything to write home about. Again, prices are reasonable. Hand number two. Here’s where I get a little personal… I recently attended a show here. The place was hoppin’ and we’re all having a grand time. Around 12:30, a half hour before closing, the bartender comes around giving away Jell-O shots. This would be neat except for 2 things: a) too close to closing for free drinks. That’s borderline asking for irresponsible decisions for the drive home. And b) the way she chose to hand them out. She *literally* stuffed the Jell-O shot down the shirt of my friend and subsequently pulled it out to hand to her. Good business practice? Heck. No. Even when we reacted to it, she simply said«don’t worry, I’m not going to do it again» before walking away. Really?! There’s no excuse for what really amounts to assault. Something that I’m sure the local kids love is that they don’t card. A number of very young looking folks waltzed in and ordered drinks without anyone asking for their IDs. Were they underage? I don’t know. But as someone who held a TIPS cert for a time, I certainly would have asked. I hate to out someone’s business but really it’s better to get the fine, do it right, and avoid aiding in underage drinking. I’d only go back there to support a band, personally.

I kinda like this place. I just stumbled upon it one day when i was traveling and was in RI. I’ve been here 3 times its kinda cool. I would give this 1 or 2 stars but they have an awesome outdoor area. You can bring drinks out there as long as they are in a cup. They have horseshoes, and 2 awesome fenced in beach volleyball courts. The downfall is they have 2 tvs and only 1 that works, and the people that go there you can tell are townies. People are pretty friendly though.
