Fantastic food especially the steak is absolutely delicious. Also the deserts are fantastic. My only complaint would be the prices. Very expensive.

Best. Ribs. Ever. And a caramel pecan pie cheesecake to die for. My 10 year old son said that it was truly finger licking good. What a gem!

Pleasant surprise. We arrived around 2 pm. Ordered hamburger and fries and cole slaw plus chicken sandwich with fries. Everything was fresh and delicious and my husband said the slaw was the best he’s had in his life. We finished it off with a cinnamon bun which we took back to our hotel. It was amazing.

Southern Charm. Lovely family owned restaurant with delicious food. Ribs were perfect. You must leave room for dessert. Hard to choose from the delicious array of cakes and pies. People from all over drive to have dinner at this western mennonite family fun restaurant. At the end of the evening the servers sing hymns. Absolutely lovely. *Quilts are hung from ceiling and walls are all for sale. I wish I had picked one up for home

Charming place with homestyle cooking by Mennonites. Everything is YUMMY! The BEST homemade rolls! Desserts are fabulous. Reasonable prices. Open for lunch only Monday-Wednesday. Open for lunch and dinner Thursday-Friday. Daily lunch and dinner specials. Sweet staff.

Best American/Southern food around. I know that lots of people claim to have the best chicken salad, but River’s Edge takes the cake. Speaking of which, the plentiful dessert offerings are unbeatable. They also have consistently exceptional daily specials. I recommend River’s Edge to anyone passing through the area. Favorite dish: chicken salad melt on toasted sourdough Only drawback: check the weekend hours before visiting

My family and I were in Cheraw for an ancestry trip(turns out G-G-G-Great Gramps helped to build this town). The owner of our B&B recommended we try The River’s Edge, as well as almost everyone else we asked. It’s in downtown Cheraw, right on 2nd St. We went for dinner on a weeknight and were seated almost immediately. There was a steady stream of customers coming in and everyone was greeted with a smile and a friendly attitude. The food was delicious and you could tell everything was made from scratch. The rolls were buttery, warm, and fresh. I had the Big Sis, which is «Marinated grilled chicken, with bacon, cheddar cheese and chipotle pesto sauce. Topped with a crisp onion ring, on a home-baked croissant.» All for under $ 10! The desserts were varied and delicious. We ordered the carolina cake and white chocolate lime cheesecake. Both were HUGE portions and were the perfect ending to our meal(and a nice breakfast the next morning). And what I think is the coolest part of the restaurant — they sell gorgeous handmade quilts for really affordable prices. I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t get one!

Stopped here for lunch on our way through to Virginia. GREAT country-style cooking! The food, service and staff were all excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly with a ‘natural’ smile on their face. Rivers Edge is more that just a restaurant, it is also a nice country store offering prepared condiments and beautiful hand-made quilts among other things. And the little downtown area could definitely be the perfect setting for a movie. If you ever find yourself driving through SC on Rte 52, be sure to stop in for a nice cold glass of iced tea and a delicious country-style meal. You’ll be glad you did!

This is a great place to eat… Somewhat limited menu but very good… the baked potato salad and the steaks are my favorite… if you are a desert lover then this place is a must!

Only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the slow service. The food more than makes up for it. Made from scratch quality and flavor abounds. I had the best country fried steak I’ve ever put in my mouth. Hubs had delightfully light and crispy catfish. Moms had the chicken salad on fresh baked croissant and had to take half of it to go. We tried the fried pickles(spear style) and they were great. Can’t comment on the dessert yet. We bought them to take home. They were beautiful, calling to us from the bakery case but we were too stuffed to eat another bite at the table.

This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Cheraw! The restaurant is decorated nicely with handmade quilts and antiques. The food is delicious. Try their fried chicken entrée.

Bakery and Restaurant! 55 told me about this place and yesterday we checked it out for Lunch! Probably the coolest part of Cheraw(Downtown)! This is a large space with huge storefront glass windows, great service and good food! I got a Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. 55 had Roast Beef with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and Lima Beans! All the food was good, none of it was great in my book. The Desserts were better and we thought about ordering more. Strawberry Cake, Bavarian Cake and Gingerbread men. I would go back for Lunch and order some of the other items and more of the desserts. I would go back for dinner too! The Gingerbread men were the best I have had, possibly ever! The décor is Totally Mennonite! In case you like photos I took a bunch!

Stopped there last Friday. I had the country fried steak. My wife had chicken salad on croissant. Everything is homemade, tasty, and reasonably priced. Menu is Southern/American. We didn’t have the salad bar so can’t opine on that. The space was a furniture store when I was growing up there and they haven’t done much to change that other than put the tables out so ambiance isn’t great but very kid friendly… lots of room to spread out. We didn’t have dessert but their cakes seem to be a specialty and looked good.

MANOHMAN! I was graciously invited to go to this place form a friend for his birthday. Boy was i in for a treat! This is a hidden jewel and I hope EVERYONE and their mother gets to know about this place so this place gets business. This is a local joint and I guarantee only locals know about it. We were greeted by these wonderful people and the first thing they brought us were these wonderful buttery rolls. I heard everything was good this menu I ordered their steak. Prices were so reasonable for what you got and the quality of the food. That is one thing that describes this place«QUALITY» my steak was so fresh and all the food was so fresh it looked like everything was grown right outside in the back. They have hand made quilts for sale in the place that are the best pieces of art ever. Now for the FINALE! The desserts. I can not begin to describe the desserts they have Homemade Oreos, Pumpkins cookies with Bavarian Cream in between them. A Bavarian Chocolate Torte, and the best Strawberry Cake I have ever had in my life. COMEHERE I know its in the middle of nowhere but a big city boy from California came all the way to this place you can too.
