AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

For gods sake stay away!!! Don’t go through the hell I did. This place is an absolute scam. Three weeks later I finally got my truck after begging them to keep me updated on what was wrong and the price I was called maybe a couple of times. The got the wrong parts then they couldn’t start. Then told me I owed $ 6300!!! I was originally told it would be no more than $ 2800 tops. I was never told the price. They just did it and tried stick me. When I tried to argue the manager said they can put the trans in the back of my truck and I can come and get it!!! Not to mention the $ 1000 rental bill on the truck I had for 9 days because I have to make a living. The best part i just left an hour ago and my transmission isn’t working!!! I can’t believe the unprofessional manner in which they operate. Please listen to me for your own good or look up aamco reviews and scam reports on google before you go here. You will be sorry.

While the staff was friendly, I do not recommend going here. I brought my car in making a loud humming/​rubbing noise. I was told multiple times that John thought it was this or that and each time I drove it the noise was still there. I spent $ 2,200 getting things replaced and didn’t have my car for about a month and when I got it back John even admitted that he didn’t know what the issue was, however I still had to pay $ 2,200 for his trial of parts that went into my car (most of which it sounds like I didn’t need). His recommendation when I left was to drive it for a few weeks/​months in hopes that it would get worse so he could fix it. Hah not a chance in heck would I take my car back there. So I did drive it for a few more months until I couldn’t take the noise anymore. I took it to the Triplex in Cherry Hill and they identified the noise and fixed it within 2 hours. It cost me another $ 1,003. However, they actually fixed the problem. Very disappointed with AAMCO admitting they didn’t know what to do and still charging me for more than just the parts since they returned me a vehicle not functioning any better than when I took it in.

I’ve brought my car to Aamco last April for transmission repair. It took them three weeks to get it back to me, and never called me with an update. My car worked for about 200 miles before the same exact problem came back, long story short i’ve been back to aamco EIGHT times for the same transmission repair, every time it takes anywhere from 3 – 5 weeks for them to get my car back to me, each time never updating me with the status of my car unless i call them 3 times a day. Fast forward to a year later, my car is currently at aamco, going on two weeks, with an exploded transmission, and now they tell me that my «warranty» expired, even though they NEVER fixed the car! i paid them $ 3,000 to fix the car, and now they want more money. NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. i would rather drive my car into a lake than bring it back one more time.
