Great place for comfortable casual dining. A must stop in Chesapeake City!!! Try the eggs Benedict as they are prepared perfectly with a great hollandaise sauce!

This place is severely understaffed for being the only breakfast spot in town. They had one girl working about 12 different tables on a surprisingly busy Monday morning. It’s a shame because the food wasn’t bad, but clearly she was overwhelmed. I noticed what appeared to be the manager in the back on the phone for most of the meal. He probably could have hung up the phone and came out to help. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Ordered: corned beef hash with 2 poached eggs, wheat bread Corn beef hash tasted like it came out of a can, received white bread. Home fries were burnt and soggy. Inattentive staff, empty coffee cups. Unfortunately a group of 12 loud, obnoxious grown adults came in and ruined our breakfast.

Had both lunch and breakfast here on a recent trip. Lunch was a turkey rueben on rye which was absolutely delicious. Swapped fries for a side salad(slight upcharge), which was very fresh and tasty. Ice tea was brewed in house and was just right. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a delicious veggie omelet with homefries. Coffee was very good. Portion size was ample, but not overwhelming. Service remained good. We also ordered carry out sandwiches for later in the day — they were fine, not great, but it’s not fair to judge sandwiches that have been sitting in the fridge for several hours. Would definitely go back — sorry that it’s not local, because it would be a regular weekend breakfast/lunch place.

Just the right place to have lunch if you are spending some time in Chesapeake City. It’s a cute town for an afternoon visit, nice walking areas. The food here is good sandwiches and good breakfast. It’s not massively«gourmet» but it’s good and the room is pleasant and cheery in an old-fashioned way. A cut above the usual hash joints that proliferate on the Eastern Shore.
