Atlas Pizza

Since Pizza Vera went outta business «Atlas» has become my faV. for pizza. Good and greezie NY style pizza at it’s best. I also had the house Salad and was quite impressed… all ingredients were fresh and a lg. portion for 5 bucks… Good Job Atlas… we’ll be back. Namaste.

Absolutely the best pie in all of Hampton Roads. Tried for the first time last week and I am back again. Made the trip from Hampton to Chesapeake because that is how good it is. Awesome food and staff in a small quaint spot.

Just came in for a slice since I have never been to Atlas. They said it would be a minute and I sat in my car since we had just picked the dog up from the groomers. The lady behind the counter delivered our slice to our car! Hot and fresh! Couldnt resist taking a bite out of it immediately and it was worth the burnt mouth! Hahaha! Delicious new york style pizza! Have to go back for more
Update: they deliver! They were really busy and still got to us in a timely manner.

Excellent food every time I’ve had it, friendly & fast service, clean atmosphere, caters to large families in the dining room, and great specials lunch AND dinner!

As far as delivery pizzas go, Atlas is one of my favorites. Way better than Papa Johns, Dominoes or any other large chain. The best part about Atlas is their low prices and their huge pizzas. I have ordered from here on two occasions and my boyfriend and I have never finished a pizza. Even when we downsized to the medium. I recommend.

Nice atmosphere & good service the staff is very accommodating. The owner is warm & welcoming and I had the Pepperoni Roll which is very tasty.

Atlas is our go-​to when we order delivered pizza. We always get the antipasto salad with the creamy Italian dressing (love this dressing!!!) and cheese and pepperoni & veggie pizzas. We have been getting food from Atlas for years and they are very consistent. The salad is ALWAYS so fresh, not the bagged stuff.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I tried their appetizer sampler and a deluxe pizza. They were out of mushrooms for the sampler, so they gave us some extra zucchini and cheese sticks. The zucchini was stuck together, so it wasn’t crispy. It was very doughy and soggy. Not sure how fresh the oil was because all of it tasted burnt and old. The pizza wasn’t very impressive, either. The pizza sauce just didn’t have any flavor to it. The service was okay. The server could’ve been a little friendlier. She didn’t seem very attentive, which should’ve been easy because we were one of two tables there. Overall, not a great place to eat. I won’t be going back.

I never put 2 and 2 together. I frequently get menus for this restaurant in the mail and I also driveby here at least once a week and I never realized that they were the same place. Even when I did a delivery order, it wasn’t until I drove by again and recognized the name that I realized they were the same place.
Its about a 10 minute drive from my house and yet it took about an hour for my order to get delivered, I felt that was really slow but I’m not sure how crowded the store was at the time so I wouldn’t «drop any stars» for that. Onto the pizza, it is massive, 1 slice is about the size of 2 normal slices so 1 satisfied my hunger, I also got their hot wings. The pizza looks good, the ingredients look like things you would make at home, sausage sliced instead of chunks, peppers cut thick and not thin, etc. Even with all of the great ingredients, I was not a fan of the pizza. It all boils down to the sauce, and it just wasn’t good, the flavor wasn’t there. I loved the wings, they were not too spicy and hot just the right amount of sauce without being too messy.
If I return it will for sure be for just the wings and maybe to try out a sub, the pizza is a no in my book.

New practices after years of loyalty, food quality is compromised by management apparently

Ordered a Sicilian and an xl New York style. Perfect in every way, only had better in NYC. Awesome pizza, sauce is right, cheese is right, dough is on point…

Your dollar goes far here. Bang for your buck is an understatement. Hands down best pizza in Chesapeake. True NY style pizza in both taste and portion size. Highly recommended.

I will always pick this place over every pizza delivery & italin food restaurant! They ALWAYS have the freshest best-​cooked food and extremely good service. Hands down.

I have had the pepparoni stromboli which was loaded to maximum with cheese & pepparoni. Also breaded mushrooms were very good as well as large portion. Just recently tried the steak sandwich with mushrooms n onions followed by a canoli!!! May i say off the charts good, reasonably priced n i got two meals out of philly! Canoli was lets just put it this way… i need to stay away from the canoli! Was that good please try it its def worth it!

I’ve been looking for a good pizza place since I’ve moved to Chesapeake and unfortunately my search continuous. I judged my decision to eat today’s lunch of off the other reviews and I see that was a bad choice. First off the let me say the restaurant is very clean, and the crew seemed very welcoming. But the pizza is not so tasty. The slices are big and I think the price is fair but the taste is poor. I’m sorry Atlas I really wanted to like you guys.

Had an awesome Philly pizza a while ago, that the team made custom off the menu. When I went back and tried to order the same pie the owner declined to make it. Disappointed that they wouldn’t custom build or add it to the menu.
Their other pizzas are still good but ask for a Philly. Best I ever had! Good luck!

Honesty and integrity in a business = a surprisingly beautiful combination, especially when food is involved! Thank You, Atlas, for honoring your agreement to comp us a pizza after the kitchen got wonky one weekend! Loved the half deluxe/​half veggie tonight with spinach instead of green bells.

After having the experience real New York Pizza, it was so hard for me to find good pizza at home. Thank goodness Atlas Pizza is in the shopping center right next to my house! I’ve been coming to this place for years and have never been disappointed. Their take-​out service is great because they have your name and phone number listed in their computer system so you can easily place an order over the phone. It usually only takes them 20 minutes, and my order is always ready when I come pick it up. When I dine in, the waitresses are all super nice. The owners love their customers as well, and I’m so thankful they keep on making amazing food.
There are always dine-​in lunch and dinner specials on the wall in the restaurant. $ 5.50 for a slice of pizza, salad and a drink? I’ll take it! My favorite pizzas from them are the meat lovers and margarita pizza. Tip: let the meat lovers cool down a bit or else it will be very messy! I love their hot wings and garlic knots as well. Their meatball sub is very juicy and tastes so good! All of their ingredients are so fresh, especially their cheese. I love Atlas pizza so much. It’s a definite must-​try for all pizza lovers!

The pizza tasted pretty good, but the restaurant smelled like cleaner. I suppose that is. Better than smelling like some other things, but my eyes burned.
It looks like the place does a big take out business. Considering the smell, I think we would do takeout in the future.

This place is pretty good, the pizza is New York style. I ordered from them this past weekend and they delivered my pizza in about 25 minutes. I also got an italian sub. I ordered a pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese 16″ pizza and an italian sub with extra meat. The pizzas crust is pretty good, nothing truly exceptional though and I’m not sure it tasted made that day (they say they make the crust each day). They didn’t put quite enough cheese on it for my taste for actually paying for extra cheese so be aware if you’re a cheese lover to ask for extra or you will be disappointed. The pepperoni’s were the best part of the pizza I believe. The sauce was pretty good too, pretty sweet and it reminded me of one of my favorite pizza places. If you don’t like sweet pizza sauce then you will want to reconsider ordering pizza here.
The italian sub was really good, but as you can see from my picture there is no real need to order extra meat. I am not complaining at all here, just informing, because I love a ridiculous amount of meat on my subs but even this was almost a bit too much for me. The sub also had a quite bit of tasty cheese on it and overall was really good, probably a bit better than the pizza. I particularly liked the bread on the sub.
All in all this place would get a 3 ½ stars if I could give that rating. I feel a 3 star is perhaps shortchanging them a bit but I’m not sure if the pizza quite earns 4 stars. All in all though you won’t find a bad meal here and they do deliver so I will, at some point, probably order from them again in the near future. Next time I’ll probably try the wings too.
P. S. The pizza re-​heats the next day incredibly well… I almost think it was maybe even better the next day… and it’s really good cold too.
