I’ve been coming to this library for over 20 years. This is by far the best library in the Hampton Roads area. I’ve taken both my kids here since they were toddlers & have spent several years here personally towards getting my Psychology degree. They offer many classes on a plethora of subjects. They also run the bookmobile which caters to many places including the school I teach.

Children’s area is great.
Magazine and movie downloads are awesome and unexpected. Staff is helpful and quiet. Get a library card-​quick and easy.

Even though the trip is long, I do not mind taking two buses to this library. it is so quiet and huge. You can actually study and concentrate at this library. My favorite part of the library is the café. Even though it is just vending machines, the café offers a nice place for people to drink coffee and read a good book.

I’ve always been the type to just buy my books but after returning to VA that has changed! I love love love this library and so do my kids! They are even starting a kids program for babies! Their clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the selection is perfect! They have Movies, Video games, Music, books, online books, access to the Internet. Don’t forget they’re FREE. Oh and their check out system, LOVE! Also you can sign up for email alerts that will remind you a few days in advance that your items are due! (Forgetful Nancy here, this is a double like)

Attention all students! This library is a study gem! They have private study rooms and plenty of tables with outlets to plug in your laptop. One of the nicest libraries I have ever been to. Clean and quite! As a student who is getting a degree 100% online, this library functions as my classroom. The atmosphere encourages productivity. Love this place!

Today was a big day at the Library! My daughter got her very own library card. She held on to that thing for dear life.
This is one of the best Libraries in the area. They just redid the kids area and they have a great toddler section with activity zones. I’ll be sure to take a photo the next time I’m there. Really have to say it was a great time for all! We met some friends and decided that this should become a more regular part of our year.
My daughter checked out lots of books and a couple kids videos! I was able to find some movies that I’ve been wanting to watch and a mini-​series that I’d like to see. They even carry Blue-​Ray. Can’t wait to go back!

I don’t even live in Chesapeake, but I’d gladly go out of the way to come to this library. It’s like Central, but a bit smaller, quieter and just better. Basically a perfect analogy for Virginia Beach vs. Chesapeake, anyway.
