After the whole«not having screws for the beds» fiasco, I will say that Mr. Parker was a businessman and came out to assemble my beds. The ordeal took about two weeks. He had to find and purchase the correct screws and he had to make time in his schedule to accommodate me. I appreciate his professionalism and for resolving the issue. Word to the wise: no matter how stressful the move is, make sure that the screws to the beds are taped/attached to that particular piece of furniture! It will save you from headaches and frustration.

They did a great job moving my family from Virginia Beach to Chesapeake at an extremely reasonable price. Everything made it in one piece undamaged. Me. Fletcher is a nice as they come, the only thing to complain about is some of the movers weren’t all that professional. All in all I would use them again for short distance moves.

I was doing an out-of-town move and similar to when I moved down to the Hampton Roads area, I called Fletcher Parking Moving to help load my moving truck. Because I had used them before, I was familiar with the pricing and the quality of work. Unfortunately, my most recent move with them didn’t go as planned. I had initially scheduled for them to arrive at 9AM however, they didn’t show up until about 9:50. There were 3 guys, when I had initially discussed 2, so I was pleasantly pleased with that. The guys jumped in head first and tackled packing my truck and, even fit everything on my 10ft truck when I thought it all wouldn’t fit. They were done in about 45 minutes, which again, was the quality of work I had dealt with before and what made me call again. However, once it was time to pay for services, I was told about a «two-hour minimum» which was not discussed when I made the appointment. Nor did I pay a two-hour min for my previous move. The guys were really understanding and didn’t push about the additional money, I told them I would call Mr. Fletcher about it and they left. I did call Mr. Fletcher right after they left to remind him that he didn’t tell me about the two-hour minimum and his exact words to me were, «I guess I need to tell people about the two-hour minimum.» I almost let out a laugh speaking with him because, YES if you’re expecting someone to pay a rate, then you would absolutely need to tell them. Mr. Fletcher was really great about it and said to me that, because he didn’t tell me, that it was okay. Also, I had called Mr. Fletcher the day before to remind him to bring plastic wrap for the furniture, which they did not. As a result, my mattress got pretty dusty from the truck ride. All in all, the guys were great; very professional. They did a great job packing my truck. Were very quick and despite the misunderstanding, everyone was very respectful and I would definitely recommend them to anyone I knew doing an in-town move.

Man, have I read some scary reviews for movers here on Unilocal!Having never hired movers before and after reading many of these negative experiences, I was prepared to say aw hell naw, and just handle everything ourselves. We had a tight timeline we needed to meet in order to be out of our apartment by the end of the month and into our new house. There was no way that I could afford a moving company not showing up on the scheduled day. A coworker recommended Fletcher Parker Moving to us and couldn’t have spoken more highly of her own experience, so we gave Mr. Parker a call. He called us back immediately and scheduled a time to come over and give us an estimate for our move. We were very pleased with the price range he gave us considering we were living on the third floor of an older Ghent apartment building and that moving involved going through the midtown tunnel to Portsmouth. We set the date and time the day he gave us the estimate and said that we’d touch base a couple days before to make sure everything was still on track and that our timeline hadn’t changed. On schedule, he was in touch with us two days prior and confirmed we were all set. The day of the move, his crew showed up right on time. He had a team of about six people and they wasted no time getting straight to work. We had a large apartment and a LOT of stuff and I was amazed how quickly his team began to empty the apartment. They took the time to cover and protect our furniture and I couldn’t believe how they knew the best way to load it all into the truck to ensure they had to make the least number of trips possible, which turned out to be only two. His original estimate on timing was that we should plan on an all day move, however after arriving and starting to get to work around 9am, they were completely done and had everything into our new house by 2:30pm. They set up beds, arranged the heavier items exactly where we wanted them, and were super nice and courteous. The best part, aside from not having a sore back, was that the final price was right on point with his estimate. No hidden costs or trying to add on extra due to this or that. We completed our move without anything damaged and their efficiency allowed me to return to our apartment that afternoon to do my final cleaning vs. having to return the following day. It was great having that extra day to start unpacking in our new house and doing the fun part after four weeks of packing hell.
