Excellent Indian restaurant! We had the samosa, onion bhaji, chicken tikka massala and garlic naan. And it was delicious!

Okay so this place is definitely worth the 5 stars! What a hidden gem! My boyfriend and I, plus our son, have been coming here for a few months now and every time we have the sweetest Indian man as our server and we always get to sit in what we call«our booth». We LOVE the veggie samosas as an appetizer, and the garlic & butter naan is a must. The different chutney sauces for the samosas are so delicious we even dip our naan bread too. YUM! You have to be open to trying anything at this place for instance I love the spinach and cheese dish, it looks like green mush but I’m telling you that flavor is undeniable. The chicken Bhuna with your choice of spiciness, amazing. The curry there too, was delicious. Oh and have I mentioned dessert? I have no clue what it is but ok it’s called«fire on the rocks» and we have to have it every time! Just try it seriously and if you can make it in for the lunch buffet, you won’t be disappointed! You’ll feel full and satisfied for sure and won’t break the bank! They have vegetarian options and more so everyone can enjoy!

Very affordable lunch buffet. The spice level was less than I was expecting(almost none) but the dishes were all delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options, will definitely return again.

Tiny place. Boring and regular menu. Not a bad buffet. Not super expensive. Decent food and decent options to choose.

By far the best Indian food I’ve had in a restaurant! They try to tone down the spices for boring American taste buds, but waiter asks if you want it spicy or not & if you do, he asks how spicy… medium, hot, etc. I asked for medium(since sometimes it can be pretty spicy, depending on the chef & it was my first time here so played it safe). It was perfect! I actually could have gone with a little more spice but was very pleased with everything i had! Couldn’t recommend this place more!!!

Always trying a new place when I can. Was not an Indian foodie but trying to expand horizons. Always love a buffet when unsure what you like. And this one is great. Naan, rice, 4 chicken dishes side dishes tried everything and liked it all. Definitely worth the trip and would have gladly paid slightly more than the $ 8.99 lunch special.

The butter chicken masala is phenom! The texture of the chicken is soft and smooth almost velvety-like. The masala makes for a good garlic naan dip and entrees are served with basmati rice. Choose your level of spiciness at your own discretion! Top your meal off with a Mango Lassi as a dessert drink. Must stop by during their lunch buffet to try a greater selection of Indian food! Just to note: No MSG/Artificial colors, grass-fed meat, & poultry free range

Feeling like a Princess at India Palace I have always loved trying new types of food. I usually go with my sister and cousins. The first time I came here was with my cousin for dinner. She wasn’t to fond of Indian food at first, but I insisted her to try it here. So to have an Indian place close to home, my cousin and I tried it and sure enough we both loved what we had ordered. The second time around, I brought my sister to try out the buffet, and I was surprised of what they had out on the buffet table. Let’s just say my sister and I really enjoyed it. Dinner: The butter chicken Masala was so delicious with a side of their jasmine white rice. The chicken was so savory and very tender. We also orderd the garlic naan bread which was soft and so delicious when dipped into the butter chicken Masala sauce. Lunch: It’s a buffet, what can I say. They had the butter chicken out with naan and their jasmine white rice, which are my favorite dishes. I also tried the tandori, which was also delicious and a must try. Drink: Must try the Mango Lasi, if you love mango as much as I do its a must try for sure. It’s like a smoothie but better! Walking in felt like we were walking into a 5 star restaurant. It was very fancy and well decorated with nice table clothss, lighting, wine glasses and silverware. The service was awesome, our server was amazing and attentive. Wonderful flavored delicious food with Great service and atmosphere, definitely will be coming back.

I was so sad to see Gotti’s Grinders close it’s doors, but it sure helps the pain go away when an Indian Restaurant opens up in it’s place! Personally, I love India Palace, I have been to both lunch and dinner there and it never disappoints. I was pleased to see that the folks running India Palace are the same ones that ran/owned Rajput on Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach before it closed it’s doors. The service, atmosphere, and food are excellent at this location. The lunch buffet is definitely a hit at this location… the lunch time crowd is always pretty large. If you haven’t been before, I highly recommend trying the Tandori Chicken and the Butter Chicken!

Ok so first time having Indian food and have no idea why I waited so long. I mean yes I like curry dishes(I usually make my own) and I like spicy food! But boy I had nothing on this place! I tried the butter chicken, naan, shrimp fried rice and a eggplant dish and it was all so delicious!!! Walking in felt like we were walking into a 5 star restaurant. It was very clean and well decorated. It wasn’t busy at all, matter of fact my group of 7 was the only ones there the whole 2 hours. The service was great, our waiter was very attentive and engaging. The dishes can be mild or medium but I found mild was still a little too spicy for some of us. The curry had very good balanced flavor, it wasn’t too strong of a curry taste. Definitely will go back and try so more dishes!

Best Indian food we’ve had in a long time! The restaurant is lovely and linen napkins make you feel like it’s an occasion. I’ve eaten Indian food in the UK and this surpasses most. Will for sure be back again, hopefully soon!

I can’t help it. Sometimes I get these crazy Indian food cravings. For the past two weeks I was experiencing these cravings and India Palace’s lunch buffet was able to fill my desires and my stomach. The selection is smaller than I have seen at other Indian lunch buffets but for a $ 8.99 lunch price I’m not complaining. For how few people there were in the restaurant the food was constantly coming out hot and fresh. I don’t remember everything I ate… I wasn’t so concerned with the names as I was the taste. Jasmine rice, honey balls, rice pudding, vegetable pakora, butter chicken, orange and yellow vegetable dishes. All amazing. Let me just shout out the butter chicken right quick. BUTTERCHICKEN! You were the best. I would eat you all the time if I could! I would highly recommend checking this place out during lunch. Can’t wait to go back with all my co-workers.

Having worked for an Indian restaurant I consider myself someone who knows and loves Indian food. Someone recommended to try this place but I was not impressed with the food. The service was decent, typical of a small Indian restaurant, so don’t expect anyone to meet you at the door and put the napkin on your lap. As far as the food I wanted to try a couple of my go-to dishes so I ordered Chicken curry and Lamb Rogan Josh. The Chicken curry was a little more tomatoey than what I like, but it would do in a pinch if you are totally craving Indian. The lamb however was awful. It was tough to the point to be inedible and more fat than meat. The raita was good and the white rice and naan were the winners. The server was aware enough not to charge me for the lamb and offered me to re-do the dish; however I had my fill and did not want to wait. I will go back and give them another try. I wouldn’t use this as my Indian restaurant but, again, in a pinch it would do.

Overall the food was ok. I enjoyed trying new items that I have never tried before at a indian restaurant, but the flavors lacked a little to me. I know it was during lunch and they have to accommodate for everyone’s taste, but I have had indian buffet food and it have a little more flavor. It was good for a quick in and out lunch.

Stopped by for the lunch buffet. I have very little knowledge of Indian cuisine, so I tried a little of everything. I did not fine one dish on the buffet that I wouldn’t eat or order again. The restaurant was nice looking and very clean and the servers were very attentive. All of the food was great. There were several chicken dishes and a goat dish. Butter chicken was amazing! Tandoori was good. The goat do piaza was very good. I’m a meat eater, but there were some vegetarian dishes that were also great. Also, there were some fried bits of heaven: Samosa, chat papdi, aloo tiki and pakora.(I only recognized the Samosa by name.) They were also very good. You should go. Go now!

Went in for lunch. They had a buffet going but we chose from the menu as we had never been there before. The masala and tandoori chicken were to die for! Will be back to see if the buffet is worth it

Dropped in for dinner. Apple maps didn’t bring us to the front door but we found it and parking is free and in abundance. Seating wasn’t a problem because we were the only dine-in customers for as long as we were there, but there were at least four people who picked up carry out. We had the vegetable samosa, papad, butter chicken curry, eggplant curry, garlic naan, and butter naan. The samosa came with no sauce so we used the sauces for the papad and it worked fine. The samosas were okay but not anything close to the best. On a scale of one to five we give it a two. The papad was okay too but wished it came with the yogurt sauce. The eggplant curry was a fail. I’d say epic fail if anything. We had to force ourselves to finish it. The butter chicken curry was a score! We tried to share this dish between the two of us. We would order this again! The naan was another fail. Ordering naan here in the states has been a real hit or miss, and this was a miss. Always remember to flip naan upside down to remove all the black burnt parts. Rice was plentiful and very good actually. If we could do it all again we would only order the butter chicken curry and rice, and double that please. All this for $ 60. *notes: –the thermostat is way too low so I recommend a sweater –this place looks higher end with nice table covers, lighting, glass and silverware. However, we were dressed casually and so was everyone who picked up carry out orders –curries on menu are at a higher price point and the portions are small

The second India Palace in Hampton Roads. I wasn’t too fond of the one on Virginia Beach Blvd. This location is much better. Find it near the Sam’s Club off of Battlefield Blvd. It has a warmer and brighter feel. And by that I mean the bright lights and décor make for a brighter feel and welcoming environment. Their furniture is higher end and iThis restaurant is a little smaller in size, has an open floor plan but in my opinion, a better setup for an enjoyable meal. Food wasn’t out of this world delicious but definitely a notch up from their VB counterpart. Staff was friendly. A good place to have a group of 5+ but they don’t have a private area. I was there for a business luncheon and guest speakers were present. It didn’t bother me but if I were a regular patron I would have felt awkward trying to not speak so loud to people at my table for the sake of the business dealings that was happening within the networking group. Aside that, a solid place to visit.
