Buyer beware. Don’t be fooled by their free estimates. They will charge you an arm and a leg. Make sure you check other competitors rates. You’ll find their rates are double what other electricians are charging. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Consumer beware. Wanted to make sure you’re not making the same mistake I had. Called Mr Electric of Chesapeake to do a what they call free estimate. I needed 2 GFIs replaced and check for power on an outside pool light. This guy Jason gave me a tablet to sign without explaining to me the amount he was charging. So he was trying to pull a fast one on me. I insisted that he explain what I was about to sign. Come to find out is was a proposed bill of around $ 440 to replace 2 GFIs and check for power on one. Wow!!! I think that was outrageous. So after negotiating with him, he agreed to check the pool light power for free. But after all that, for some reason he made it appear that checking for power on the outside light was going to be time consuming and labor intensive. So he had me sign a tablet again to charge me around $ 130 to check for power. I was in an awkward situation because I was ready to go to work so I decided to sign it. I told him to call me as soon as he finds out what the problem was but never did. Found out as soon as I left, he left a few minutes after because my pool guy came 10 to 15 minutes after I left and no one was there. It’s partly my fault for signing it but I would never in my lifetime recommend Mr Electric of Chesapeake. Their rates are outrageous and they know that because they try to collect money right away. Do yourself a favor and check for other reputable, honest and reasonable electricians in the area.
