I’ve been coming here for about 4 years now with my wife and we love it. The waitresses/waiters are great, the food is amazing, the portions are more then enough. You can spend twice the money at other places like Abuelos, but you’re just wasting your money. This is the spot to go to.

I’ve been coming here for quite some time now. I usually come here with family, sometimes after church on Sundays for lunch or just to get our Mexican in on other days. They have pretty reasonable prices for their lunch specials and dinners. I always get their cheese dip as our dip with our chips, since their white sauce is a bit spicy plus I don’t like salsa. My entrée is their Steak Quesadilla with Rice and guacamole but I substitute it with sour cream and tomato instead since I don’t like guacamole much. Got to say it’s pretty good, since I do get it all the time haha. As dessert, you’ll never go wrong with their Fried Ice Cream. Service isn’t to bad, but I do think the guys are more attentive than the ladies. Once, I told one lady that there was no tissue in the ladies restroom and she looked at me like okay and. She didn’t even say thanks. Plus, she barely checked up on our table and refilled our drinks. PRO: Food is delicious! Cheese Dip is On Point! CON: Customer Service from the ladies could be worked on! Oveeall, love coming here for Mexican food!

Took a few mins to get seated. Food was good, with big portions. Came out fast. Waitress was great, came by several times to check on us.

What a nice clean place. Food came out fast and hot. Lunch was busy and we still had great service. Get the cheese dip!

My kids like Rancho Grande as a change of pace from our regular place. To me the food is bland. The portions are portions are good and the service is fast. They have a decent margarita, but I haven’t tried their sangria yet. If you’re looking for a clean establishment with great service, this is a safe bet.

The service was great! The food was good. The only downside for us was that the white sauce(usually our favorite thing at any mexican food restaurants) was a bit too spicy and we were told that was the only batch they made today. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves.

Came in tonight for Cinco de Mayo. The food was mediocre at best. I had chicken tacos. The chicken was bland and I had to add a ton of salt and pepper. My friend has a quesidilla. It was a mess and has a cheese sauce and not melted cheese. Send it back for fajitas nachos and they were just as bad. Conversely the drinks were very good.

Came here with friends after an elite event and enjoyed a taco salad and of course, a margarita. The service was quick, which I find at pretty much an Mexican restaurant and our server was friendly. My meal was your typical taco salad. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it as well. I did enjoy my margarita. And once again, there was nothing special about it but hey, a margarita is a margarita.

A little UYE action after a very successful, fun, and heartwarming a Elite Event this evening. I took care of the staff and photographer tonight and joined a few of our guests for dinner since we munched on cupcakes for a couple of hours. The place was dead but that’s because it was 9:30 and they close at 10. Like any Mexican spot, service was quick. A few folks enjoyed a margarita. I ordered the steak ranchero. It’s my usual choice. It was a steak topped with onions and peppers served with beans and rice. While I liked that my meal wasn’t heavy, I found the steak to be a little small. Not to be funny but my girlfriend thought the same thing, too.(That’s what she said moment?) And there I shall end this review.

I love this place. Not be confused with the other Rancho Grande, this restaurant is one of the better Mexican places to eat in Hampton Roads. One of my faviroite things to eat is their table side guac. The guys are quick and skilled at putting together the guacamole. They will make as hot as you want it :) I have tried several things on the menu and honestly have never had a bad meal. I love their burritos and fajitas. The prices are pretty good compared to the amount of food you get with each plate. I will keep coming back!

Rancho Grande was nothing special. I have definitely had better Mexican food before. I wouldn’t come back. The cheese dip was good and the salsa wasn’t bad but I would prefer my salsa to be a little chunkier. I got chimichangas and they were nothing special. I have definitely had better at other restaurants.

I called and ordered take out. This was my first experience eating food from this restaurant. It was recommended by a family member that is acquainted with the owners. My ordering experience kind of put me off, but I went through with the order anyway just to see if maybe the food was worth it. I ordered two taco salads with beef tips and no onions. We also ordered without beans. The guy taking the order told us that the meal came with chips, salsa, and white sauce when I asked to order some. I asked what his name was to know who I placed my order with. He didn’t feel it was necessary to give it to me and didn’t. However, I suspect his name was Alberto when he referenced that name while telling me that if Alberto wasn’t there to give us the order, anyone could. After placing the order, he said it would be ready when we got there. I asked him if he wanted our name for the order and instead of just responding politely with a simple no, he told me not to worry that no one was going to take our food as though that were the purpose of taking a name for an order. Call me old school, but good manners haven’t yet gone out of style and he sure didn’t have them. My husband is from Southern California so he is a Mexican food enthusiast. When he brought it home, I checked the salad and was surprised that the meat didn’t have any seasoning on it. My husband took a bite as well and wasn’t impressed. The beef was bland. It didn’t even taste salted. The salad order was correct(with the exception of the lime I requested) and it tasted freshly prepared, but it was lacking in flavor. I quickly dashed to the pantry and refrigerator for hot sauce and jalapeños to doctor it up some. My husband said the best part of the taco salad was the hot peppers that I added. o0 The chips that came with the meal were good. They tasted fresh and were fried in new oil unlike many restaurants. The salsa was good; however, the white sauce was just average. I asked my husband to rate it on a scale of 1 – 5 with 5 being the highest. He hesitated and gave it a 2 ½. I decided to give it a 3 since the food did taste freshly prepared. Just a quick note though, when I asked if I could get the guacamole prepared without onions, I was told that it was already prepared with onions, so no, I could not. My family member told me otherwise, so perhaps they pick and choose who they will prepare special orders for. Obviously I was not one of those people. Will I be going back? No. Would I recommend them to others? I don’t think so. There are a handful of places in the same vicinity that offer better hospitality and have much tastier food. One last thing, the prices are reasonable. Still, I’m always willing to pay more for good food and good service. Also, hospitality goes a long way.

It’s not bad here. Location is very close to other commercial shops. There lunch menu is decent, I usually order a chicken quesadilla everywhere else bc that’s what it automatically comes with unless you specify, but here, it already comes with Steak. I give this place a thumbs up.

The hubs and I stopped in for lunch this past weekend and sort of wish we hadn’t. We got seated quickly, but in one of the most uncomfortable booths imaginable. We sank right into the cushions(if there even were any in them). Our server was nice enough, but rather slow and inattentive. It took forever to get a check at the end of the meal. Our food was just okay. The chips & salsa, rice and beans were pretty much par for the course. Of course, how could you really mess any of that up? I liked my taco part of my combo. The burrito was pretty bland. The hubs was certainly not blown away with his food either. I really hope that the original location on Military Highway is still as good as it used to be. Not sure we’ll find out though. So disappointed.

Rancho Grande used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, so I was pretty disappointed with this visit. We were seated immediately upon arrival and brought drinks and chips right away. I did have to ask for the queso dip, which most places usually bring it out right away. I ordered a margarita after being told they had no mixes available for mojitos. I’ve never had a problem ordering a drink at a Mexican restaurant before so I was pretty bummed they were out of whatever they needed to make a mojito. After glancing over the menu, I noticed they changed it around a lot. The main reason I wanted to come to Rancho Grande was for their shrimp quesadillas, which I loved. It was no longer on the menu, but the waiter said I could substitute the meat in the quesadilla grande for shrimp. I feel like they need to change their menu to make sure they have all options available to make it easier to order. My boyfriend ordered shrimp tacos, which was also not on the menu, and a chicken tamale. I also ordered fresh guacamole because they make it very delicious, but I never got that. The food was mediocre, and pretty disappointing because it used to be so delicious. Rancho Grande needs to pick up on their service and quality of food before I plan on coming back.

Stopped by on probably one of the busiest days for them, Cinco de Mayo. After driving around the area seeing/hearing the lines out the door of several Mexican restaurants, my friends and I ended up stopping by here. It had the shortest line and we were craving the food. The line went by fast, but by the time we were inside the restaurant, we opted to take seats at the bar. There’s no doubt they were busy, and unfortunately that meant we sat there for about 10 minutes unnoticed. Eventually a gentleman from the kitchen gave us chips and salsa, but then it was back to sitting and waiting. After about 10 more minutes, we managed to get menus from one of the hosts and we asked if we had a server. He said he’d check on it for us, but would gladly take our drink orders in the meantime. After bringing those out, he ended up just going ahead and taking our orders. He was really cool and probably not a server himself, but I gave him a lot of props for taking care of us. One of the female bartenders eventually came around and cared for us. She was really polite as well and gave us the remote for the TV. The host guy came back to check on us periodically too, offering chips and refills as needed. He even took the checks to the cashier for us so that we could still kick back and watch the NBA Playoffs while we finished our beers. The food itself was overall pretty average. I went with combo #4. I really liked the rice and the tostada with beef and cheese, but the taco and enchilada were plain and lacked flavor. Overall, not too bad of an experience. Waited longer than I wished, but can’t complain given the special occasion. The host handled the situation well.

It’s been just shy of 4 years since I last set foot through the door here and everything is exactly the way I remember it. I was immediately seated for lunch and my waiter stopped by to provide a menu and some chips & salsa. I ordered an iced tea as well. When he returned a few moments later I placed my order. Today’s lunch included a couple of taco’s for starters and then I had the combo which included an enchilada and a beef tostada with cheese & rice. By the time I could finish checking in on Unilocal the food was arriving at the table. This was actually a fairly big lunch and I enjoyed every last morsel of it. This was so much better than the Mexican place I went to last week. Now I know better. Like I said in my original review a few years back… FAST! Good! Affordable! If you’re in the mood for Mexican in Greenbrier look no further than Rancho Grande.

Very average food. The tamales are terrible though. Every time. The chicken to dough ratio is off. Not enough chicken. Also, the chicken is always overcooked. Way too tough to chew. Just bad. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Service is nice. Other menu items look good, and this is my lunch date’s favorite Mexican restaurant, if that counts for anything.

Guacamole table side prepared is always a delight! Very nice servers and good food! They seem to genuinely appreciate your business! They love when you speak their language too!
