The BBQ Shack

We got the carolina pulled pork and brisket sandwiches with mac and cheese. Meat was smokey and tender. The sauce was a mixture of sweet, tangy and a but of spice. Offically our go to bbq spot!!!

Just go here. The cornbread is delicious. The greens have vinegar in them which I don’t like but if you do go for it. The potato salad is standard. The sauces are great. Next time I go here I’ll get brisket (melts in your mouth) and a bunch of cornbread.

Great southern cooking with a small community twist. Located on the Deep Creek area. Every Thursday Deep Creek High School, Wood Shot class orders the «Mac Daddy on a pretzel bun» so good!

Went here based on Unilocal reviews with a girlfriend and the place definitely knows BBQ! I ordered the sampler and it was delicious. The baked beans and cornbread were the best I’ve had in a long time.

The best BBQ in town and the corn bread is sweet and fluffy. Don’t let the looks run you off the food is delicious!!!

Great Brisket! Melts in your mouth! The collard greens were amazing! Southern style with sweetness! Took me almost 2 years to finally try this nice gem!

Very good bbq the side were delish as well I will return. Very reasonable prices. They gave me samples of the brisket and ribs, both were on point. Worth checking out for sure.

Best bbq in Hampton Roads. Love their side dishes too. Especially the collards and green beans. Good prices and nice staff.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said. My husband rarely bowls over with enthusiasm for bbq but he sure did today. He practically inhaled his Bang BBQ sandwich it was so good. 3 hours later and he’s still oohing over it. My Mac Daddy trio was just as good. Everything tasted fresh and like bits of bbq heaven. The pulled pork slider had just a smidgen of heat which I normally dislike but the overall taste was delectable. I don’t know how but one Friday I will taste the ribs. Probably have to call out of work but it will happen. I’ve always thought this place was permanently closed because every time I went by it was closed. I just didn’t get there at their 4 hour window. Most definitely a place to visit.
Ps, I had the brisket slider the next day. I nuked it for about 45 seconds and it was the best brisket I’ve ever had! The mac n cheese wasn’t for me but the beans were yummy! I can’t wait for our next visit.

If you check out my profile you will see that I like BBQ just a little bit. This place comes in at the top of the list for me when it comes to brisket & turkey. The pork was on point too, it’s just that the other two meats were on a much higher level of deliciousness. So if you are in the area and in the mood for food, hit this «Shack» up. It’s about 10min from my office, so I know I’ll be back. They do ribs on Fridays and wouldn’t you know it, tomorrow IS Friday. Gonna have to see what tomorrow brings. I hope whatever happens that it happens near this place.

Ok me and my other half just had a platter from there!!! He fell in love with it! I myself have been in love with it !!! We ate at the park in the rain!!! He don’t know it we stopping back pass to get BBQ to take home!!!

This place is amazing! A true Deep Creek staple. Hop off I-​64 and grab a bite. The pulled pork is great love the Mac & Cheese too! Just like Grandma’s!

I love this place, been eating here once a week for a year or so, the BBQ is great but the brisket is the best ever!

My go to place to get my BBQ fix! Their brisket if off the chain and their sauces are too good! Wish I can have this stuff overnighted to me haha!

Mmmmm!!! Bang in’ BBQ loves up to its name! The green beans are off the chain — a little bit spicy. Get the coleslaw on the sandwich. YUM!
The green beans (a slightly spicy kick) and potato salad are my go-​to sides.
I only wish the desserts were made in-​house.

En route to the Outer Banks from DC, this was our pit stop. Probably the best BBQ I’ve had in a long, long time. We ordered the Mother load turkey sandwich, the pulled pork sandwich, side of mac and cheese for the toddler, side of coleslaw, and beans.
The meats came with their own different style sauces and everything was slow roasted braised and assembled to delicious perfection. The meats were better than the sides, but they were still on-​par with what southern BBQ sides should taste like, and the tot deemed the mac and cheese «yummy stuff!»
Though it’s definitely more of a take out place there’s one 4-​top table inside and a few stools plus some table tops on the porch. My only complaint is that there is no restroom, another reason to grab and go. Might be a little messy for the car so take stock of the paper towel supply.

Great food from a small home style BBQ shack, with a very friendly atmosphere. I recommend to anyone who likes BBQ.

Unbelievable BBQ. Had a sampler platter with turkey, beef brisket, pork, Cole slaw and beans. Absolutely delicious and so filling — for only $ 7.69! Also had a beef brisket sandwich which was out of this world. Definitely worth the trip!

These guys have better pulled pork and brisket than anything I had in South & North Carolina which speaks volumes. They’re family owned and ran. From speaking to the owners, they smoke everything fresh each morning. I’ve been three times and have had them cater my daughter’s birthday. They’re terrific to work with and very hospitable. I received many positive reviews over the pulled pork by the adults at the party. The beef brisket was one of the most tender I’ve ever had in my life. The turkey brisket was also good, but on the occasion I had it, the turkey was a bit too salty for my taste. The pulled pork was comparable to what you’d find at County Grill in Newport News, but for less money. If you’re in the area, give these guys a try!

Unilocal raved about this place so of course, me loving BBQ, I had to check it out. The place is a small take out with only a few uncomfortable plastic picnic tables and plastic chairs to sit. So definitely a place for the to go orders.
They were out of a lot of sides so what they did have is baked beans and Mac & cheese. Both were meh…
I got the Turkey breast sandwich and that was AWSOME! Flavorful and not Salty, hubbies pull pork BBQ sandwich was great too. Will definitely be back
