Everytime I come here it is usually after working out. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. But the one thing I notice most is not just how good the food is but rather that it is a family ran business. The thing that always gets me is when I come in I see the children helping out the family or studying for school. I hope business picks up for them their hard work is almost inspiring and I hope they go far.

Their crab rangoons were really touch/hard to chew through, practically stale. Everything else from here was good. The owners were super friendly and their prices were cheap. Although the crab rangoons weren’t as exceptional as others have reviewed it to be, I’d definitely try this place out again simply because the owners were great.

I always come here for the same thing. their crab rangoon is the best in the area. I always get mine with dumpling sauce. The lady usually knows who it is ordering when i ask for dumpling sauce. The fried chicken is good too, standard crispy chinese fried chicken. I dont really like the beef or chicken sticks or their fried rice. The general chicken or oranhe chicken isnt what u are thinking of. They only use the orange sauce for it… not the actual general tsos sauce which was very dissapointing… its actully pretty gross. Hope they can realize they need to use rhe real sauce.

Yummy is located by Lowe’s and behind Cracker Barrel off of Portsmouth Blvd. It’s in a strip mall by a nail place, a Subway, and a pool supply store. There is also currently a vacant shop next to them, if you’re in the market. My husband and I have ordered take out from them several times. The sesame chicken is awesome. The broccoli in it is always brilliantly green and beautiful. so tasty. The fried rice is what my fancy arse likes to call«mall Chinese» rice… weird unnatural yellow color but tasty nonetheless. Their dumplings are also really good, as well as the crab Rangoon. I thought the egg roll was a bit strange, had some of the sweet and sour red sauce in it(seemingly). too sweet for me. I tried the lo mein today and maybe it is customary to put mushrooms in lo mein, but I am allergic and was really disappointed to find them in there. just a heads up, nothing was wrong with the flavor of the food or anything. Yummy is our go to quick Chinese take out place. the food is always consistent, the service is friendly and efficient, and like I stated above… it’s Quick. Give Yummy a go and see what you think.

Visiting family in the area, very good much better than Peking House. Yummy is yummy fresh ingredients, vegetables not over done and they all had their own flavor. Will tell my brother to go here from now on.

Yummy! This Chinese joint has got to be my favorite in Hampton Roads thus far! I used to work next door and when 2pm hit I would go to Yummy for their great lunch special! For around $ 6 I would get a soda and generals chicken lunch special. Their lunch special includes rice, the meat, and your choice of egg roll/soup. I believe it was around $ 4.75, no more than $ 5 flat. The rice is always good, steamed and tender. The egg drop soup I’ve gotten has always been really good, the eggs are always delicious and the broth hot. The egg rolls can occasionally be a bit greasy but I pat them down anyway. For the real winner… the general’s chicken! The chicken is CRISPY! Never soggy. The sauce is not gooey but flavorful and spicy. The broccoli is not flimsy and brown but fresh and vibrantly green. I wish I had some right now! The chicken is all white meat, no weird coloring on the inside or toughness. The service I get is always friendly by the young girl. She has never messed up my order over the phone or in person. Occasionally they have two small children there, a little girl and an older boy. The girl can talk your ear off if you’re eating indoors but she is very cute and very nice. I’ve watched them make my food before and I have been really impressed by the preparation steps. It’s not just reheating or grabbing something from the fridge. It’s cutting the chicken up, breading, pan frying and tossing in the sauce that was just made. I used to think I knew what good general’s chicken was. but I never knew until I came here! Cannot say much else for the other food. My mother really likes their pork and mixed vegetables and pork fried rice.
