Matt and the other barbers here are the best I’ve ever been to. Friendly service and great atmosphere too!

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Matt, Zach, and now Ben are three gifted individuals when it comes to cutting hair. They give an awesome experience, are always talking to you, are all extremely personable, and give a nice hot single blade shave at the end. The prices are all extremely reasonable, I’m insanely happy I found this shop as I don’t think I’ll need to find another place for a haircut in the time I’ll live in the area. Ben is the new guy, but it definitely doesn’t show as he is just as skilled. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know, they haven’t let me down yet.

Matt is a gifted barber… knows his stuff and never fails to give a quality cut every time. He and his staff are professional, friendly, efficient, and priced right. Zach is an equally gifted barber and the two create a great team. Matt moved the shop to a new location(within the same building) not long ago. It is more spacious and comfortable. Also, I’ve been to other shops that use really cheap hair products and then sell you something else that costs more. Not Matt… he uses Woody’s hair products and makes it available for purchase right in the shop at a very reasonable price. I won’t go anywhere else…

Best haircut around. A true old school barber. Equally skilled with scissors, clippers and a straight razor. Matt’s been cutting my hair for years and is the best barber I’ve ever had. Zach does a great job also. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Awesome shop. Old school feel with updates style. Highly recommend especially for military. It’s hard to find a good place around here to get my hair cut while home on leave. $ 17 bucks cash I’ll pay that any day here. A++

Great haircut for the price. All of the guys working there are friendly. One caveat. The place is usually quite packed so expect a wait. This speaks more to the quality of the service and positive word of mouth IMO.

I’ve gone to others but Matt and Chris are great. I have not had a bad haircut yet. The only downside is the wait. It’s always busy but that also means you get a good haircut and shave if you need one. Prices are also reasonable

A real ‘honest to goodness’ Barber. Best in area, in my opinion that I have finally found. Knows his way around a straight razor and understands style. Crowded at times, like Saturday and late Thursday when moms and dads bring the whole family in, yet never too long a wait. If you’re in by closing time, Matt or his #2 will take you. I go at odd times.

«Whoaaaa», is all I can really say about my experience with the barber shop known as «Mathew Scott». His skills are such, that I have never seen their equal. He’s like a Jedi or a Ninja with anything even resembling a blade. A true tonsorial Zorro! Once seated in his chair, it becomes quickly apparent that this is no ordinary barber shop experience. He slices his way through your hair will the zeal of a Amazonian rain forest guide, hacking through the thick brush with his trusted machete, all the while maintaining the laser precision of a neurosurgeon. I swear in the name of all that is holy, that once his masterpiece was complete, he pulled the cape from around my thick, well muscled neck, that a flock of white doves flew towards the heavens, from beneath the cloth, as if the David Copperfield of grooming had just left his mark upon me. I left his establishment that day a better man than I was upon entering. Thank you, Mathew Scott! 1,000 times, thank you!!! I’m forever a changed and more enlightened man, and I owe it all to you!!!

OK, so as a guy, it’s hard to find a good haircut. The zillion places with just graduated girls(Locker Room, etc) have no clue how to cut men’s hair. These guys are good, and affordable. And they shave the neck with a straight blade! What more could you ask for? Walk-ins only.

We love this barber shop. You have to time it right when you are bringing children there because there are usually a lot of people waiting but Matt has recently hired an excellent barber which has cut down waiting time significantly. I bring both of my young sons there for their regular haircuts and they love it. Thanks Matt, keep up the good work!

Our son, Ben, just got his 10th haircut from Dan the Barber. And yet again, it was far from ideal. We live in DC, and have yet to find someone as good as Matt, who gave Ben his very first cut. His shop is super clean, he couldn’t be more personable, and gave Ben the only cut I’d call excellent. All we can find here are either overpriced salons that are«willing» to style kid’s hair, or mediocre barber shops that cater to old men and military. Wish Matthew Scott was closer. Maybe on our way to Maine this summer…

While searching for an «old-school» style barber shop, I found this place. The price is right, the experience is excellent(only barber I’ve been to who can handle a straight razor) and Matt is a nice guy. The antique chairs are also great and add to the experience. Highly recommend checking this place out. I drive about 30 minutes to go here and always find it well worth the trip At my last visit, cuts were around $ 15.

Matt’s got another barber working the second chair in his shop part-time now. I noticed the last time I was in that there can be quite a line waiting for a cut, so this is going to help, I’m sure. (And hey, parents, 15 minutes before closing time is NOT a good time to bring in your four young boys who all need a cut. Seriously. Thank you.)

I have been recommended to this barber from my best college friend. Everything said in the first review was right on the dot. Matt(The owner and only barber at the shop for now) truly has a gift and passion for cutting men’s hair. His work definitely shows once he is finished with your hair. Comparable services in the Boston area are about $ 45 while you get this at a fraction of the cost! Very well worth it. This art is definitely lost in the Boston area and wish that the Matthew Scott a Barbershop moved closer to Boston. Matt can safely say that he has a lifetime client from Boston that will try to make it in for a haircut at least 4 times a year once I am in the area. I believe prices are at $ 16 a cut now which is still a great deal.
