This little café is quite small but has a killer brunch. I did not get to try the pastries but another woman raved about them to both of the owners. The breakfast burrito was pretty oily I have to say but tasty overall. My sister got the fruit parfait and it looked like it was taken straight off of a food blog page. It was beautiful and tasty. The fruit looked extremely fresh and ripe. This is probably be best brunch place in the area. Cravings has refreshing and delicious food not to forget the variety of coffee options and flavored foamed milk. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving a delicious brunch and a good cup of coffee. The price isn’t so bad either. ;)

The best little dinky restaurant around. The service is good enough, but the food is the best there is! I am definitely recommending this place.

What a find! A family owned and well managed eatery. It is clean, friendly, serves quality fresh food and the staff is fun. What else does one need? Oh yeah, one can order half portions. What a refreshing café. Thank you for being in Chester.

Wow what a nice little place to have breakfast or lunch. Great tasting qualty food made with qualty ingredients. I was impressed by the«not your typical» lunch items on the menu, great twists on the classics. Friendly attenative staff. Lunch was under $ 30 for two people. Stopped in for lunch on a busy Sunday. Seated right away. Orders taken and food on the table in about 20 minutes. I ordered the basil tomato soup and grilled cheese about $ 12 with upgraded soup cup to bowl. The soup was good with basil, and made from scratch. It was good and healthy but didnt really leave me wanting to lick the bowl clean. They made me a sandwich on local wheat bread stuffed with cheddar and blue chesse, damn thats a winning combination and i recommend it to anyone. I licked the plate clean. Girlfriend ordered the special, shimp po’boy $ 12.95. Large white bread roll stuffed with slaw and large shrimp. The slaw was really good, we had a discussion on the tastyness and tried to figure out what made it so good. Sweet creamy vinaigrette? It had it all. The shrimp were large but over seasoned for my liking. So there are all sorts of food options on the menu that make me want to come back. Great fun options for the person with food restrictions including vegan and gluten free(indicated on the menu). You wont be stuck with a salad unless thats what you want. Choice sides include slaw, salad, or chips. I did not see french fries in fact i dont think there were many, if any, fried food options, REALLY nice to see! Im going to try their soy chorizo hash or so chorizo burger next time! This place is also a coffee spot and bakery so you can get all sorts of cinnimon rolls or gluten free brownies too. Wifi hotspot and you wont be kicked out if you decide to just hang out. I feel the pricing was reasonable for the quality of food, if your looking to treat yourself once a week or passing through town, or if your tired of subway sandwiches. I recommend a try.

Went to Cravings for the first time today. I got the shrimp Po’boy sandwich which was a featured special. It was fantastic! It was as good as any I had while on vacation in New Orleans and the coleslaw I got as a side was excellent!!! I will definitely be back!

This place is a must!!! We definitely need more ‘s. Vegan and gluten free options. I got a soyrizo potato hash with avocado. Perfect amount of spice with a beautiful presentation. Husband got a burrito,” this is by far the best burrito I have ever had.” Definitely going to stop here many more times in the future. Luv it luv it! The price is worth it, the food is fresh. And the people are super nice. Don’t leave without a dessert! Sooo yum

I have been here twice now and I am sold. The food here is fresh and the couple that owns the place puts their heart into everything. The baked goods are delicious and are made fresh daily. Both times I have been here I have gotten breakfast. On the last trip my wife ordered the Settlers Scramble and I ordered the French toast. The French toast was great but my favorite was the Settlers. I am glad my wife shared with me. My wife also ordered the Girl Scout cookie latte and raved about it the whole day. For a small town this is a great find. I can’t wait to get back up to Lake Almanor so we can come back and eat here.

This place is amazing! They have really good soy chorizo burritos, a bacon waffle that is the best around, their gravy is homemade and really good on the potatoes or over biscuits! Or if you are in a hurry… get a mocha and a peach turn over! All of their pastries are homemade and wonderful! You really need to give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing food, service and environment. The beautiful owner and her husband the chef were constantly checking to make sure we were satisfied. I’m very picky when I order food and she had no issue making adjustments for me. We didn’t get dessert but only because we try to stay away from sugar but everything looked fresh and so delicious! Only thing I might slightly complain about was the plates clank on the table when you go in for a bite, I think some cloth placemats would take care of that, also the door to open the pastry display made a lot of noise each time a customer would request one it was like a mini earthquake lol but I am sensative to noise when eating so I doubt those tings would bother the average person.

Early in the morning last week, we spotted this store front as we were leaving town after visiting relatives. What attracted our attention was the«coffee» signage out front. After a couple days of «hotel coffee» we wanted a good cup for the road. We were sorry that we had already had breakfast as some of their selections founded wonderful. My husband ended up ordering a Reuben to eat later. It was wonderful, even later that evening. The cole slaw was really good … especially with the kale. And yes, I was in bliss with a good, strong, black tasty cup of coffee. :-) Very friendly and excellent service. I highly recommend a visit.

Amazing food and friendly small town-like service at a great price! We sat by the window as a wonderful waitress(Rachael?) took and brought over both my order of the breakfast burrito(minus cheese) + soy chorizo as well as my boyfriend’s order, a club sandwich. Both were amazingly delicious! I will definitely return if I ever get the rumblies while visiting snowy Chester/Lake Almanor again.

Best breakfast in Chester by far. Best hash browns I have ever had. Owned by a lovely couple who are very personable and will go that extra mile to ensure your visit is great. If tables are full which they are likely to be because word is spreading on how delicious the food is, you can’t go wrong with a coffee and one of their delicious pastries. A must visit whether visiting the snow or the lake anytime of the year.

Every time my family comes to Chester we make sure to stop by here! The staff is friendly and attentive, the restaurant is clean, and the décor is well thought out. However, the food up stages everything! We’ve had their bacon waffle, the breakfast burrito, the old town breakfast, and once we had their scones and not once were we disappointed! I have yet to find a breakfast place like this in San Diego.

Stopped in here a few weekends back for lunch. It was OK except for a few misfires which lower the rating. To begin with the dining room is the size of an average living room and was being worked by at least two servers. I sat at the counter and was invisible apparently for a full ten minutes and actually contemplating walking out when someone asked me if I had been helped yet(I assume the lack of a menu, silverware, drink etc. would be the tip off). Once they realized I had not been waited on they apologized several times but I still don’t get how they could have missed me. Strike two when the waiter recited the list of several items they were out of for the day, one of which was the chorizo burger. Now I would not have a problem with this except I specifically drove into town to try this burger because I LOVE chorizo in a burger. Oh well it was not to be. Instead I ordered the special which was a Ruben sandwich. For my side I chose the cole slaw. Hmm. It sure looked tasty when it came out so I dug in. Flavor was good but I was irked that each time I took a bite the pastrami all pulled out of the sandwich. I think it was either a tad too tough or could use a thinner slice to prevent this. Still as I said the flavor was good. Ditto with the slaw. It was not your average slaw. In addition to(or maybe in lieu of) cabbage there were several other vegetables including what looked like slices of Brussel sprouts. The flavor of the dressing was good and tangy, but the texture threw me off. I like the idea of a fresh and healthy slaw not overly dressed and this was going in that direction, but maybe shredding the sprouts would do something for the overall experience. It just was too chewy. I will try this place again and the fact that it was packed with people tells me they are doing a good job. I am looking forward that chorizo burger so hope it is still on the menu when I get back up there next time.

Best latte around! The food is fresh and delicious! Try the Greek yogurt bowl with lots of fresh local fruit & honey with some of their homemade granola. Their cur beef hash is excellent. Don’t pas up on their maple bacon Cronut. Husband & wife team own the place and do it right. Would hire chef/husband for catered meals. Open breakfast & lunch. Best spot in the area.

Great cookies, decent coffee. New owners who obviously care. Small cozy place. Very noisy when their coffee grinder is going(happened twice during our 45 minute stay … we couldn’t hear each other talk while the grinder was going). Corned beef hash was good. It’s different than almost everywhere else in that unlike most places who serve it moist this corned beef(as stated in their menu) was dry. I liked it. The side potatoes were a bit undercooked. While we 4 were discussing that the owner came by and asked us how everything was. We told him about the undercooked potatoes and he said that he’d make sure from now on they’d cook them a bit longer. Fast service, nice people.

Great little place with good homestyle food! Sunday morning was clearly busy but we got a table to accommodate our party of three. My boys were eager for pancakes like they usually have on Sunday mornings but with no pancakes on the menu, they split the Belgium waffle. The kitchen graciously accommodated my request to split the waffle, berries and whip cream into two plates for my little guys since there is no kids menu either. Served with warm syrup, they ate almost every bite. And cold chocolate milk was the perfect drink to wash it down. The menu had lots of seemingly great options, including a breakfast burrito I will try next time, but I had surveyed the Cravings Facebook page before our visit and discovered a secret menu option to ask for. And it was awesome! I won’t ruin the secret concept. You can go and research for yourself. But I will say, great sausage gravy. Yum! As a fountain soda junkie, I was disappointed with the can of soda I was served but I got over it. I also never got my toast. But I didn’t leave hungry. The portion was very healthy. Every table was full and there seemed to be only one person taking orders and one person cooking but the time it took to get our food is what I would expect at any busy restaurant on a Sunday morning. The selection of baked goods looked awesome but with two rambunctious boys eager to run around I forgot to grab something to go as I was herding them out. Next time. I love a good breakfast and this one met the goal even with a few challenges for this local restaurant with new owners and a new name. We will be back!
