Look, I live in JCrew often enough, but I went looking here for skirts and sundresses, because NYC is broiling atm, and at the height of sale season and they had nothing. They had no casual skirts and no sun dresses;it was post season I was told. And I do not blame them for thief inventory; however the saleswoman went on to say that NONE of the stores in the complex, which includes Talbots, JJill, Anne Taylor, Banana Rep, would have anything and that I should march over to TJ Max and not to waste my time entering another store on the strip. I did not take her word. I kept looking and did not need to look very hard. I found a plethora of good sundresses and cute, summer skirts in various places. Talbots had 5 – 6 really cute dresses. I never shop there; it doesn’t usually occur to me because I shop online mostly… Anyway shame on you JCrew for poor sportsmanship. Honestly, the smart money promotes all local businesses when they can. You want to draw people to your complex not repel them. Get to know the local stores and if you don’t have it, you absolutely want to recommend someone nearby. It’s possible she was giving me a not so subtle brand snub and to that I say: your freaking loss.
