I live very near this location and they always have what I need. I am a very hands on individual and always find the parts I need. Sometimes the pricing is a little high if you have a spur of the moment purchase but everything else is good. Its also very clean and well lit. We used them for our central AC install and it went perfectly. They hire an outside company who did a great job. The no interest financing helps too!

They wanted $ 270 to send a guy to my home to connect the newly bought gas oven in my kitchen(which I bought from them). Delivery was free but the connection to a single gas pipe for $ 270? Are they insane? It’s a 10 minutes job that shouldn’t cost more than $ 50. I called my friend who did it for $ 40 ! LoL. If you buy something from them, they should be more reasonable. Avoid any installation by them or any other home improvement store. Usually it is DIY job or call someone you know. Usually someone you know can do it and you will save lots of $$, or sometimes your friend may do it for free. This store merchandise is generally overpriced(look online and compare… you can find same items for a lot less) but I gave them a 2nd star just for politeness of the store’s staff.

Lowes in Chester, NY. I’ve been a loyal Lowe’s shopper for at least 11years and have always been pleased with my purchases there. In November my wife and I decided we wanted to put in a set of french doors to make a guest room/office so I decided to give Lowes installation services a shot. Jason was a pleasure to deal with and, although I was surprised by the $ 450 installation charge(maybe a 2 hour framing job), I decided it was worth it due to the speed and hassle-free experience I expected. So on November 11th I paid for the install($ 950 including door and labor). Was hoping to get it installed by thanksgiving but was informed that the best they could do was Dec 16th. Wasn’t thrilled about this but as long as the door was installed before our guests were to arrive on Dec 19th I figured it was still worth it. Then on Dec 12th I get a call telling me that the door had arrived and that the installer would be in touch«in a few days». I explained that the door needed to be in by the 16th as agreed. On Dec 16th I still had no call back from the installer so I gave them a call and was told that the soonest they could install was jan 5th! I dealt with Justine and Erica in the install department to resolve this issue but am told that the best they can do is install by New Years… so they were professional and courteous. So I’m sitting here with guests arriving Friday 19th and they’re not going to have a door on their room. Extremely embarrassing. I’m on the verge of flipping over from the customer that is slightly annoyed and inconvenienced to the livid customer that never a shops at Lowes again… Update 12÷17÷14− received call back from Erica stating that they would cancel install but would have to charge me $ 65 for delivery… There was no courtesy for the unconscionably bad communication and service. I WILLNEVERUSELOWESINSTALLDEPARTMENTAGAIN!!!

Parking lot is always full of cars using it as a commuter lot monday thru friday. Next to impossible to navigate with a trailer during the week.

Waiting on the return line being ignored for 5 minutes. Finally someone gave me some service and it went well. I guess service can’t be perfect. I think someone should have acknowledged me as soon as I walked up. I don’t mind waiting but being ignored is very inconsiderate. The worker that ignored me for 2 minutes was Richard. He said someone would be with me soon and it took 3 more minutes and then that person was very helpful.

The best word to describe this store is… «Understaffed.» You need help? Forget about it! Every time I go into this store I walk up and down the aisles searching for someone to wait on me. It’s ridiculous. I’m doing a big renovation, and my contractor picked out everything I needed and gave me a list. Last night, I went from department to department trying to find someone to help me. I had an order worth more than $ 2500, and they didnt seem to want my money! I ended up at customer service, and he walked the whole store with me trying to find someone to take my order. He gave up and did it himself. He told me someone would call me today to tell me when they could deliver my order. Can you guess? Nobody called me! I called asking to speak to the manager. No surprise, the operator connected me to his line… And he didnt answer. Do yourself a favor… Go to Home Depot. I’ve never had problems getting waited on there. No more Lowes. I’m done!

When I need certain supplies and hardware that the other stores don’t carry, I go to Lowes. This Lowes has some excellent employees. The Garden Center staff is helpful and knowledgeable and even helped load us up. And inside there are many people wandering about you can ask for help also. The prices are reasonable but you should always check online to be sure you’re getting the best deal. And for those times when you’re dragged there against your will you can peruse the magazines while Mr Fix-It peruses the tools and such.
