I love Andrea’s! Having to go gluten-free, I felt a little lost without some of my favorite foods, especially sweets. Andrea’s makes fabulous gluten-free goodies like gooey butter cake, brownies, muffins(try the pumpkin… yum!), and cookies. No more feeling left out! And the best part is that gluten eaters can’t seem to tell the difference!

No Longer Retail outlet. Only offices and only sell wholesale. You want flour, you gotta buy it by the case. If you make the mistake to drive out to Chesterfield, or call to ask questions be prepared to be berated by a rude woman. Also, when you try to visit their website, Safari and other internet connections recommend that you not visit the site as it is not safe. Guess I’ll be looking for another source for Gluten Free Flour. I so wanted to support a «local» business, but Andrea has made it almost impossible.

The stand alone store in Chesterfield doesn’t exist anymore, as it is just the offices now. I made the mistake of showing up, opening the door, and walking into the office.(The signs are still up, the windows are tinted, and the parking lot was full, so I had no idea.) I’ve tried some of their frozen products, like the gooey butter cake, gooey chocolate cookies, and the frozen cheese pizza. I’m not a huge fan of these. With the pizza, they put a ton of Italian seasonings on it(gross) to make up for the fact that it isn’t the same as normal pizza. The butter cake and chocolate cookies have a weird texture, and I’m not a native St. Louisian, so maybe they just aren’t my taste.(I don’t know what«real» gooey butter cake tastes like.) For bread and other things, I’d much rather get Udi’s or something else, I haven’t tried their baking mixes, but would be up for trying them. Maybe I could alter them in some way to make them more palatable to me.

I’ve been to Andrea’s Gluten Free a few times, when I first moved here, but they do have most of their products at the Schnucks which is more convenient. I love the gluten free flour blend and the pancake mix. I always have great results when using these. They have a ton of gluten free items you can’t find most other grocery stores. And I think they have discounts if you shop here on Tuesdays, which is helpful as gluten free food is so expensive.

I don’t know how they do it, but Andrea and her very friendly staff have cracked the code of gluten free baking. Use the flour for cookies or bread or whatever – you will not be able to tell the difference. The gluten free pancake mix is even better: the pancakes are outstanding. This place deserves nationwide attention and shipping because no one else – none of the mixes in the stores – has figured out how to do gluten free baking like this. Every grocery store and restaurant should be using Andrea’s flour. The store also has available a delicious array of frozen treats, none of which have yet disappointed.

I made my first trip out to Andrea’s today after yoga and it wasn’t quite what I expected as a storefront, BUT that doesn’t matter because they had gluten free goodness for me to check out. As a newly gluten free gal, they had quite the assortment that I was able to chose from. I picked up some GF baking mix, pancake mix(this is excellent!), pizza crust and cupcakes. It’s a bit pricey, but all gluten free options typically are. They were very accommodating, even put me on the mailing list for specials and news. Definitely will be back.
