Amazing deluxe chicken sandwich, best I have had for carryout or restaurant dining. Tender, juicy, great price, and came with lots of yummy potatoes. Even give you a drink. I called it in and it was ready at quoted time. Would recommend to friends and family, great lunch deals!

This place is dirty, the food is bland and boring, and every employee I encountered seemed disinterested and put out. Never, ever, again.

To honor the Brand«Chicken Shack» as a customer I try to eat there a couple of times a month. I live at Hall and North Ave so the one closest to me is west, but I chose to go to this one instead!!! Bad idea!!! First and most importantly this place is so dirty. Greasy rags all over the floor in the kitchen area, and a cart on the floor full of them too. Staff that can’t wipe down a table or a high chair for that matter and when asked to produce a cleaning rag for their high chair, the manager said to grab a handy wipe from the condiment rack! Are you telling your customers to clean the place themselves??? So I did! Losers!!! We order and it is for 2 adults and one 10 year old and one baby… 47.00 and change!!! What did we get for this… glad you asked… 5 chicken breast… one order of broasted potatoes thick with grease and not butter… two kids chicken tender meals and 4 drinks!!! No Kidding!!! This is the biggest rip off in the history of Chicken Joints!!! I could have gotten a family feast at KFC for that money with 5 large sides and 20 pieces of chicken!!! Anyway… that isn’t the worst part… cooks were arguing with counter staff, managers did nothing to rescue the kitchen, customers were piling up in the drive thru and the line inside… our wait time was 30 minutes!!! Then as I stood there a group of teenagers enter, order from their friend behind the register, and get their food in less then 5 minutes!!! Now some other orders started coming up short with food because the order taker, stole the food for her friends from everyone else who was waiting for their food. This place was a disaster! Then something started to burn in the kitchen, and the place filled with heavy smoke and no one did anything about it!!! We got our food finally and then the magic happened. We all got sick!!! and are still sick 2 days later!!! Flys all over the lobby and tables, garbage on the floor and a staff that is in disarray… I will never eat at this Expensive nightmare Shack again… wish 11 and Schoenherr were closer!!! Close this one down!!!

The good: Ribs are very good as is the chicken and fries… personally the potatoes are overrated. The Cole slaw is slightly above average and the chicken tenders are very good. The bad: Expensive as hell and not worth the money. Also, so many times this place has given us chicken that is literally the size of a golf ball and they count it as a piece. The worst: Why is it that the guy in drive thru who ordered at the speaker gets to stay in his spot at the window and wait the 15 minutes it takes to cook the food while the rest of us who called orders in on our way have to wait behind his fatass? With my 2 toddlers in the car who don’t do well sitting idle I was forced to leave them in the car and run in to pay for food that was done 10 minutes previous. The tough guy behind the counter told me too bad when I asked him to ask the guy to pull up so others can move through. Long story short this happened to me today for third time and just like the second time we left when the car in front of us didn’t move for 7 minutes. I’ll go find my butter and grease elsewhere

I eat Chicken Shack once a year around the same time… my mom has a habit of ordering about $ 150 worth of Chicken Shack for a party or something around this time of year, and this year was no different. She got their coleslaw, chicken bites(or whatever they’re called — the boneless chicken things), and their broasted potatoes, as they call them. I’ll say the food’s pretty good, but the prices are just too high for what you get. I thought the coleslaw was pretty disgusting though. For one, it’s minced instead of shredded(personal preference), but what really bothered me was that it tasted kind of… I don’t know… dirty? And it seemed like they added waaay, way, way, way, way too much sugar. The potatoes were good as usual, but what’s not to like about butter-soaked anything? I like the fact they hand batter each piece of chicken they make too, and the chicken(to my knowledge) isn’t frozen, but I think I’d sooner go to KFC. KFC’s a little cheaper, and I actually prefer their seasoning, although they’re less consistent… mostly because everything is cooked to order at Chicken Shack, unlike at KFC. Chicken Shack at about 5pm on a Saturday night when I went in for a pick-up order was booming. I’ve tended to wonder why this place has managed to stay open for so long, but uh… I guess that’s why. I will say the building itself is a dump and falling apart. That’s sort of part of its charm, but it still wouldn’t hurt to fix some parts of the building that are literally crumbling away.

Cooked to order midget chicken. Taste is good but value is little. The pieces are very small… I got a wing about as big as my thumb. The breasts are the size of three fingers placed together. BEWARE: This location is known to short the piece count. If you order a 12 piece box, make sure to count it before you drive off. Odds are you have only recieved 10 or 11 pieces. I have had this happen several times over the years.

Waited for 15minutes when I came to pick it up. They don’t have my order. This is the second time they missed up my order. The last time it was over cooked.

Hands down this is my favorite take out chicken. I love it. Their braised potatoes are awesome as well. Reasonably priced and good quality.

To compliment other food prepared for a small party I hosted, I pre-paid a few days early for three slabs of ribs and a gallon of coleslaw at Chicken Shack. The food was ready when requested and it was delicious. When most people think of Chicken Shack, they naturally think about the chicken. But what they are missing out on is the ribs. In my humble opinion, they have the best ribs in Michigan. The meat falls off the bone and the sauce is yummy. The slaw was a bit excessive for our needs, but for 13 bucks I could not pass it up. The slaw is sweet and must have tons of sugar in it, and it is chopped very finely. I was a little worried the tray might drip in the car, but it did not. I did not order any potato wedges this time around, but I can attest that they are also pretty good.

With a name like ‘Chicken Shack’, I didn’t know what to expect. I certainly wasn’t expecting to have awesome chicken and ribs. Even their fish is good. Everything is broasted, but this isn’t a ‘low cal’ place. I stand corrected… I tried the grilled chicken tonight and it was really good! Great place for carry out and small parties. Call your order in because they cook to order and it takes awhile, but it’s worth it!

I lived in MI for about 3 – 4 years and it’s been 2 years since I’ve been back. Holy shit, I miss their fried chicken. It’s broasted – don’t get it twisted, and fucking awesome. Their mushrooms and potatoes are the shit too. Call in advance to be faster. They cook to order. Of course not healthy and I wasn’t. I weighed like 160 – 170 and now I’m about 40 – 50 lbs less and it’s probably because I moved away from this place.
