Yikes, I guess they’re not quite done with the remodeling. Went to see Star Wars and my seat and my husband’s seat were so squeaky it was embarrassing. MJR Chesterfield has been one of my faves for a long time but I think I’ll just mosey on over to AMC Mound till they’re finished.

Don’t really come to this area often, so haven’t been to this theater before recently. I had a great experience. Sat in some amazing recliners, which I guess are going in all the theaters. What stuck out was that there were some pretty disruptive teenagers in my theater. Someone else had complained about them and the kids were warned; everyone deserves a warning and a chance to straighten up their act. The young guys continued to be disruptive and a manager removed them from the theater. I was just glad to see how she handled the situation, and actually did something about it to make a pleasant experience for the patrons. Too bad it had to happen at all but that’s life. I would come here again for sure.

Me and my family went to see a movie. There was 5 of us and all of us got concessions. We went to the theater and had seen that they were doing remodeling on that section of the theatre. We went to walk in, mind you its 10 minutes before the movie starts and my sister is allergic to drywall dust. As we go to walk in a few men are walking up and down in and out doing a remodel in that very theatre. My father who is elderly asks a woman who I can only assume is the manager if the theatre is open and she responded with of course it is. Just go in, they are finishing up. My father then says there are guys working in there and dust from remodel is flying about and he didn’t want the food to get affected nor did he want my sister affected. She sighed rudely and said «then don’t go in. Just sit on the bench» and walked away while my father was attempting to talk to her to see if we could do anything else given the situation. She walked by swiftly again ignoring my father’s once again attempt to talk to her. Went into the theatre, guys were still working on it and half the seats were covered in garbage bags. I couldn’t believe how rude she was and that they would be playing movies in a theatre they were working in past the start time. We have gone to mjr for years upon years usually at partridge creek or van dyke. This experience made me and my family not want to ever step foot in an MJR again.

This theater is already good, but is just going to get a whole lot better with the remodel. This theater is going to give Emagine a serious run for their money. It is not going to have the charm that Emagine has, but still is going to be great. I have gone to see many movies here in the past, and this theater is very nice, not once I have had a bad experience here, all good. The experience you get now is pretty good, now that they are putting in the recliner seats, the whole experience is going to be so much better
Overall, this is a pretty good theater, the experience is good, but once these renovations are done, it’s just going to get better.

My school went to see Pan. The school ordered tickets on the Monday before we went on Thursday, they had 2 staff working concessions. We had an entire 7^th grade there, 2 staff isn’t enough for an entire 7^th grade. To top it off, they didn’t offer refills. My friend and I ended up getting to see the last 75% of the movie due to how slow the concessions were. Would not recommend for any opening nights or any large gatherings.

This theater is always clean, and I’ve never had a problem up until today. Savannah was SO rude to my family and I, she should not be a supervisor. Going to the mjr on van dyke from now on.

It seems a little old but I hear they are remodelig soon. I hope that is true.
The popcorn is a little dry for me. Even after I put on my tripple butter.
I think it is priced fine for what you get. The staff is very nice and it is always very clean. I will definately go back again.

Thank you for free refills MJR. That fact alone would make you my go-​to theatre, but there are even more reasons why you are hands-​down the best theatre around. Can we discuss matinée pricing? Matinees are before 6 pm and not just the first show or two of the day AND $ 6.00 is a great price. Super Saver $ 5.00 ahows are the best deal yet. These are shows before noon Friday — Sunday. The MJR staff is nice although perhaps slower than my husband was when he worked in a movie theatre back in the day (so he says). The theatres are kept clean and chairs are in good shape. I like that you can lift the armrest. The only thing I don’t care for happens at most movie theatres nowadays — advertisements! The CONSTANT ads before the show are annoying. I get it, you can make big bucks bombarding a captive audience with these school of choice, dentist, and lawyer ads but we don’t have to like it… and we don’t. Although some ads have become a running joke with my family, I would like to see them go.

Very nice theater. Great staff and nice atmosphere. Only thing wrong is they offer Pepsi and not Coke products. Or they should at least have another diet offer besides diet Pepsi.

I continue to visit MJR Theaters at Chesterfield Crossing and count it as my all-​time favorite.
Apparently, I am in good company … Adam Graham of The Detroit News wrote an article on 22NOV2014 about the catchy MJR song that immediately precedes each film showing. He talked specifically about the ‘clap-​clap-​clap’ that warms the hearts of so many who hear it.
Just so you know, it’s a spontaneous community thing, like joining in with enthusiastic singing of the National Anthem. Hey, perhaps they haven’t been clapping at the beginning of each movie for over two decades, but it sure seems like it!
They offered a free movie for military veterans on Veterans Day again this year.
There was only a handful of people in the theater on a recent Wednesday night. Nobody from the younger generations was on hand to do the MJR (clap-​clap-​clap), so I did it myself.
Special rates for seniors, children, and students. Discounts also available for military vets. Gift Cards available in increments of 10 to 100 dollars at the box office.

This particular theatre has been serving Chesterfield for over 20 years. It’s been thru it’s share of remodel and expansions.
Theatre is always exceptionally clean and staff is really help when it comes to selecting a movie to watch.
Why I really love is the free refills on pop AND popcorn, any size.
This is the typical hangout every weekend for most middle and high schoolers but this particular location actually has security to keep everyone under control. Props to them!
The concession prices have actually gone down over the years… shocking I know! Large Pop and Popcorn deal for $ 9.50. It was nearing $ 11 last year.
During the summer MJR has free popcorn every Tuesday with the purchase of every movie ticket. Any size. Free refills. Bonus!
Sign up for the movie rewards program! Free stuff every 50 points. 10 points each ticket. Maximum of 20 points per day so basically every 3 visits if you bring a guest. Reach 500 points and get two free tickets, two free medium pops, two free popcorns. What’s not to love?
Cheaper tickets are before noon on the weekend ($ 5) but between noon-​6pm all tickets are just $ 6.aka not an arm and a leg. They offer student, military and senior discounts.
A few of the theatres could use a makeover. New paint on walls, new seats and better speakers but overall this is an awesome movie theatre for the age of it. Very well kept!

Great location and large theater to see so many movies. Comfortable seats, great customer service and if you go before 5 p.m., cheaper price. Plenty of parking and Ruby Tuesday in front of the show to eat before or after.

I only go to MJR Theatres! They truly are the best. The prices are always reasonable and the facilities are very clean!

I like these theaters — clean, large, friendly and a rewards system for purchasing tickets, etc.
