I was looking for a good dentist to take my kids to visit when getting them ready for kindergarten and Dr. Hines was recommended to me by a friend of mine who is a single mom. So I took all three of my boys to see him. He was nice to the kids, and when I called him a year later for the next checkup, he remembered us and asked me how are your boys doing? I was surprised, but appreciated that he remembered exactly who we were. This last time I called him because I was in pain from a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and it was nearly unbearable. I lost my dental coverage and he was willing to remove my tooth for a very affordable cash amount. I went in a little bit nervous, but it wasn’t bad at all! He numbed the area with a topical ointment, then gave me a shot with a stronger anesthetic, and popped the problem tooth out, voila. The whole thing took less than ten minutes. Like another reviewer I thought it was odd that he doesn’t have a receptionist or assistants, but he probably keeps his overhead costs low that way, so I am all for it. I have since given his phone number to two other people from my work when they also needed a good dentist. Dr. Hines seems like a kind man, cares about people, but doesn’t waste time with a lot of small talk. He’s a straight shooter, really affordable, and I would recommend him to anyone(already have been)!

I started getting an uneasy feeling when there was no receptionist. Dr. Hines greeted me and was pleasant enough. Picture a gray haired ex-army sargent. I went here because I didn’t have a regular dentist anymore(due to changes in my dental insurance) and it’s very close to my house. I get into the patient area and I quickly noticed that there was no one else there. No assistant. Just him. I began to feel like I was in a back alley about to have my lungs swapped out for gills. Anyway, part of one of my teeth had broken off and I wanted to get it fixed immediately. He filled in the broken part of the tooth and it was not done well. It felt like the tooth had a hole the size of the Barringer Crater. I could never recommend this«dentist» to anyone, except perhaps to my enemies.
