Very pretty, good price per weight, and a fun time for all! The apples were delicious and it was way less crowded than the place down the street – although I’d still recommend showing up on the earlier side if you’re planning to visit on a weekend. I also liked that it still feels like you’re on a farm, not at a carnival, unlike the other place.

I’ve been here 3 different times. The first two times, I had excellent experiences, especially when I went early this season and one of the farmers personally showed us around and took us on his tractor. It was a really great experience. HOWEVER, this past weekend when I was there(Sunday, about 2 pm) it was SOCROWDED and I don’t know if it was an artifact of all the people that were there, but the people out in the apple orchards were just SORUDE. They had signs up pointing out a few of the different variety trees but some people were wandering to other ones and this guy riding around on a four-wheeler would just come by and yell at the people for being there. These areas were not blocked off in anyway and based off when we got there, there were no instructions saying not to do so(we were just given bags as we approached the orchard, nothing else was said to us). My boyfriend and I just kinda shrugged that off, but we got taken aback as we were leaving and that same man came up to us as we were getting in our car. He was super nasty about where we had parked(and for the record, we were about 1 of 8 cars parked on this strip of land). There were no cones, no signs, no rope, no anything indicating that where we parked was not permissible. Sir, if you don’t want people parking here, you need to indicate that somehow, signs, parking attendant, or otherwise. If this last experience was my first time here I guarantee I would not ever go back. I’m willing to go back and give them another try because 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, but this last trip was highly off putting.

It’s just down the road. We love their fruit/veggies/packaged goods and support of the community & sports teams!!! I make special trips for their great goods! However, I made a special trip for fresh green beans a couple of days ago and they had NONE… I was so sad!

Don’t go to Eddy’s unless you have made certain, perhaps by a blood oath, that they will be open when you get there. We called on Monday to be sure that they would be open this weekend for Apple picking. We were assured that they would be open and that it would be a wonderful weekend for picking. So, we planned a trip with my grandchildren for Sunday morning. We knew from the phone call that they would be open. However, when we got there, it was impossible to get in because apparently, they had decided to sponsor a road race and the police wouldn’t let us in. We tried to call to find out if there was another entrance or when they would be open but, of course, for the next hour, their line was busy. Since we didn’t have all day, we didn’t pick apples. Congratulations Eddy’s for wasting two hours of my time and disappointing my grandchildren. I hope you got a great economic boost from the race because I’m certain you lost a lot of customers today. I almost hesitate to write this because I don’t want Eddy’s to be overrun next year when I come back, but alas, my duty is to inform you fellow Unilocalers and give credit where credit is due. This is the absolute best place for apple picking! Forget Patterson’s– its always overrun and crowded. Eddy’s is your close by, less commercial alternative with expansive open orchards. We had the best time here and picked some delicious apples. I can’t wait til fall rolls around again to come back!

Right down the street from Pattersons. A lot less crowded and a nice place. It’s worth stopping by and doing a bit of pumpkin shopping.

Organic chicken and duck eggs, organic, grass fed beef — these are enough to give four stars! Many of their berries are also unsprayed, though this doesn’t mean organic, it’s better than nothing.

Apples! Just about every kind you can imagine! And really, really tasty Concord grapes! A good alternative to Patterson’s(which is just up the road) when Patterson’s is packed or picked over by those pesky school groups. I went on a rainy, cold, WET Saturday a couple of weekends ago, and my friends and I pretty much had our pick of fresh apples and grapes. There is a clear and definite science to apple picking; don’t wait for the first frost or let the school groups beat you to the best apples; don’t go on a day when every other jerk in the world has the same idea as you. We timed it just right this year, although in previous years I haven’t been as lucky. Mid-October is always iffy. If you’re gonna get pickin’, get out there now!

In my opinion, there are 2 parts to Eddy’s, and I would give both parts 5 stars. There is the pick your own fruit and the fresh vegetables. And then there is the packaged & jarred products that offer a way to taste the best of the season when out of season. The day I went, you wouldn’t have thought they’d be busy. It was cold, overcast & drizzling. But the parking lot was full of cars and school buses full of children. Apparently, when it’s the right time to pick apples, that is what you do… weather be damned. The pumpkins were truly beautiful and if I could have carried one on the plane, I would have. Instead I loaded up with real Ohio maple syrup, apple butter, cashew brittle, pumpkin bread mix, speciality dippin’ mustards and a caramel apple for the road.(No, I didn’t eat it while driving) I love supporting a local, family run farm that has been doing what they do best for over a hundred years. I love it more when it tastes so good doing it.
