Sugar Pines Farm

This is my 3^rd year in a row getting a Christmas tree from Sugar Pines Farm. Lots of varieties of trees including Frasier Fir, Canaan Fir, Blue Spruce, White Pines, and the hits keep coming. Many sizes of trees from Charlie Brown trees to 12 – 14′ high trees. Fields are well organized and marked. I love everything about the experience… the greeter as you pull up who hands you a list of trees on the lot (and subsequently crushes you when he tells you every single Frasier Fir has been cut down and removed from the farm the day prior… sigh…), the fresh cooked kettle corn, the cut-​your-​own experience, the saws, sleds, the tools available to you, and hot chocolate and cookies for sale. There are plenty of workers to assist you with bailing the tree and making a fresh cut. They even provide string and they will help you tie the tree down on your car. After a heavy rain, this place gets extremely muddy so wear sturdy and high boots. Cash or check only – no credit cards. And buy your tree as early as possible. I was stunned when I showed up this year on Dec. 2 and all the Frasier Fir trees were already cut down and removed. But I ended up finding a nice FF in the barn!

Terrific selection of healthy Christmas trees in both species and sizes. Sugar Pines Farm offers pre-​cut, cut your own, and balled (live) trees in a wide selection of varieties including myers spruce, blue spruce, balsam fir, and even hemlock (new for 2012). Fields are huge and segregated by species. The pre-​cut barn even has a carousel for trees to be viewed all from one spot. Plenty of help to select, trim, shake, wrap/​rope, and carry to your vehicle. Lots of parking and even flaggers to monitor safety and point out open stalls during busy days.
IMPORTANT: Does NOT accept credit cards — cash & checks only! Tax is included in price tags on trees.
Ownership of the farm changed in 2012, although the previous owners stay involved in the operation.
We had been here once before but in 2012 we tried a couple of other tree farms closer to where we moved to (including Rhodes Sisters, Starr, North Corner). We were disappointed by the competitors’ prices or that they didn’t offer balled trees.
There are a lot of choices between us and Sugar Pines Farm. However, we are completely happy with the healthy selection available, the prices, the expertise, and the friendliness, and smooth operation at Sugar Pines Farm. We will wholeheartedly return for many Christmases to come!
