Really tasty food and great service. One of the best indian food we have tasted.

Now, I’m not one for Indian food, but I decided to give it a try. I tried two different vegetarian wraps, and they were pretty good! It definitely wasn’t my favorite, but that is only because I’ve never been one for indian cuisine. The place is comfortably small, and we had the place to ourselves for quite some time. It’s very nice to sit by the windows and watch the cars drive by while eating your food. The staff, especially a man who must have been either the manager or owner, was very pleasant! We got all different samples of the sauces and butters, and got information about all the different dishes. Honestly, you can’t beat the prices! I recommend this to anyone looking for some good indian food in a nice little restaurant for a very good price :)

Food is good. BUT. Ordered a $ 40 delivery just now. 2 entrees and only one side of rice? We both didn’t notice that it was just one rice and we have all of this sauce left. «Where’s the other thing or rice at?» Called to see if they left a rice side at the restaurant and girl on the phone says that for 2 entrees they«fill» up the rice container. It was half full. Now I have to spend time making more white rice(not the yellow kind with the spices… Plain… white… rice!!!) at home to complete my order after spending $ 40. You can see in the picture how much sauce is left for the 2 entrees vs how much rice. If you go here… Prepare to finish making your meal at home. Honestly… I get more rice at the booth at the European market that at the restaurant???

4 stars, but a solid 4. Food is great, as is the service, but it’s a little over priced. I love their curry, that would get 5 stars. Tikka masala is really good, maybe 4.5 stars. Not a huge fan of their saag paneer, but it’s still a really solid saag paneer. All in all I really like guru!

If u got taste buds then skip this place… stopped here for lunch buffet… None of the items were properly seasoned… Either they r blunt in taste or excess sweet. Definitely not wrth $ 12 buffet. By the way they denied us for A la carte but did serve two old american ladies(no offense) la carte. Not sure y they bend their rules for them.

Love this place! It’s better than any Indian food I ate in Chicago when I lived there. It’s authentic and delicious.

My first time here. I got a carry out order of Goan shrimp curry, Lamb Roganjosh, tandoori paneer, naan, and garlic naan. Hostess said the food would be ready in 15min. And it was ready on time. The shrimp and Lamb dishes were excellent! The cheese dish was good too. I loved the bread! Im no expert on Indian food, but this place is the best one yet. I still gave 5 stars although I felt the portions were small for the price. Next time I visit I plan on dinning in and ordering more. Another note for you hot food fanatics I ordered the Lamb to be «spicy hot» and it only had a mild heat. This did not take away from my experience because it was still good.

My husband and I wanted to try the new indian restaurant guru that had recently opened. We were pleasantly surprised by the good quality of food. Service was a little slow but very friendly nevertheless. We ordered grilled reshmi chicken and xecute lamb. Both were delicious. Xecute lamb was full of goan spices. We also had chicken pakora and paneer naan. Both were great as well. Over all, very good food, friendly staff. We will definitely go back. They also gave us 15% discount due to very slow arrival of food.

Ordered delivery from Guru since I was feeling lazy to pick up. We got the samosas, malai kofta, jeera rice and garlic naan. The food overall was tasty however the malai kofta had a little too much salt. The delivery came on time and I thought the prices overall for the dishes were a little higher than most Indian spots but makes sense because of the location. Would return to try more plates.

Very good! All the food was fresh and the fact it came with rice was a plus. The naan was good but a little on the greasy side. It was also kind of slow service. Overall I would definitely go again.

We came in for the lunch buffet on a Sunday afternoon and were delighted to find that we had the place to ourselves for much of the time. At $ 12/person on the weekend(and $ 10/person during weekdays), the buffet offers a good value. Pros: –The buffet had a nice selection of various dishes with plenty of vegetarian options. –Naan was made on the spot as needed and brought to the table, which meant that it was piping hot and delicious. –The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. –The restaurant was tastefully decorated and offered an inviting space. Cons: –The buffet did not have basic rice(i.e. white, brown, jasmine, etc.). –My husband noticed that the music was more pop/modern music and not more authentic Indian music(didn’t bother me, but if you’re a stickler for music, there you go). Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would go back again.

Guru is under new ownership that which is owned by the chef. The food is incredible and authentic. My favorite is the chicken tikka masala. Unlike other establishments, the chicken in the curry is properly marinated and cooked in the clay oven before being blended into the creamy curry. Many other places take short cuts where the same sauce is used and the chicken is not marinated or prepared in the clay oven. The naan is excellent as well. Will difficulty return to taste other dishes.

We didn’t expect much by the way of good Indian food in small-town Indiana, but everything was delicious! Good service, awesome fresh naan, super tasty lunch buffet.

We just left Guru. The food was excellent. The chef took the time to come out and chat with all the tables. Portions are generous and the dishes are spiced appropriately, not americanized. Genuine flavors. Other Indian restaurants have been at this location. Guru is by far the best.

Let me preface my review with i went on a VERY busy night! The waitress did a good job of keeping her cool and trying hard to keep people happy as they were slammed with customers both dinning in and waiting for carry. It took at least 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Some of the food was burned and over cooked and as far as the taste goes it just wasn’t that good, I’m sorry to say because I really wanted to like it . The place was understaffed both with the wait staff and in the kitchen. Maybe if the kitchen wasn’t understaffed the taste would have been better and for sure things wouldn’t have been burned . I will give it another try, but only for take out with time to wait till I’m starving.

This was our first time eating at Guru and we will be back. We came back with our Daughter & her Husband. The food was as good or better. What was also nice to see was that Guru was packed. The service was good but alittle slow. But with the crowd they had, it was not unexpected.

Came in for a quick evening snack. Great service, and the appetizers we ordered were awesome. Make sure the order the chai! It’s not on the menu but a perfect pick-me-up.
