I use to shop here alot! Over the years, they seem to have employees that do not care to work. Some are nice and some are awful. This past summer it was so hot in the store I felt faint. Also the rewards system is a joke. They email you with surprise points but they have so many rules you can’t ever use them. Overpriced and not the best customer service. After today’s experience I’ll travel to valpo or portage..

8pm last night. No register lights were on. About 3 employees gathered around the service desk. Roughly 6 teenagers chatting away with them. Another customer decided to shout and ask which register was open. A cashier finally decided customers mattered enough to open a register.
I decided I shouldn’t have too shout for attention from the people whose paychecks I help pay by shopping there. If they want to ignore the customers until they customers beg for attention, well better stores exist in portage just a few miles down the road.

This store is so depressing. I am not sure how this place stays open, like really. It can not be making much money.

Sometimes you’ll find something here that you can’t find anywhere else.
I have had issues with this location. They do not keep the Western Union system open as long as their opening hours. The Western Union hours on Kmart’s website and the Western Union websites are incorrect because they assume that they are the same as the store hours, whereas they are about an hour short.
Kmart does not accept the return of Kmart exclusive brands without a receipt.
Personally, I can’t wait for this location to close down and be replaced by something else. I know a lot of people feel this way.

This K-​Mart is awesome. They are clean and tidy. They have lots of deals and they always have the deals already entered at the cash register. Be sure to get the rewards card. It really pays off here. Every time I go in they tell me how much I have on my card and ask if I want to use it on my purchase. How cool is that? Excellent customer service.
The K-​Marts in Alton, IL and surrounding areas should come up here and learn how a K-​Mart is suppose to be ran.
