Everything here is excellent! The lattes are to die for and the pastries are delicious. I stopped in a few weeks ago when I was driving through town. Loved it so much I drove an hour back just for another treat today. The Nutella latte is a real treat– almost like a hot cocoa.

Delicious fresh made assortment of breads pastries and other goodies. Shout out to Milburn/Short Hills NJ owner. Good coffee too. Can get crowded but that is a testament to their delicious goods.

If you are in Chestertown, you must stop here. I love this bakery/coffee shop. Always have amazing pastries, from their Sun Buns(cinnamon sugar twisted dough buns), to their multitude of croissants(plain, chocolate, apple almond, etc.) to their simple but light banana bread. They also have more savory bakery items like their cheddar bacon scones. They also make pre-made sandwiches like a turkey pastrami on a French baguette with lots of amazing fixings. Great for a quick lunch. And their coffee is great too, I’ve fallen in love with their lavender lattes, which isn’t on the menu. It’s not too floral-y or soapy tasting like most lavender food products. And of course they have beautiful milk foam designs. What’s not to love? The shop itself is great, with large communal tables, we have met different people every time and everyone who lives there is so welcoming. We come here everytime we are in Chestertown without fail.

Just the smell from next door pulled me in. I was visiting the area on a whim and fell in love with the area. I highly recommend stopping in for coffee or sweets.

Cute coffee shop with a great nutella latte and selection of breakfast pastries. I had the chocolate croissant with my nutella latte. Very fresh. We had a few minutes to sit down and eat and I was admiring their furniture. Beautiful tabletops with plenty of seating. Glad I stopped in :)

Best fresh pastries item on the Eastern shore. This baker is a master and he produces the most gorgeous pastries and bread. Sandwiches are good but that’s because the bread is so yummy. Try locovore and fresh here!

Baguettes used to be great. They had the light almost crispy crust you’d expect. However now the crust is tough and chewy, still better than Wonder Bread but a real disappointment. The rest of the extensive offering is good to great including excellent coffee.

If you’re looking for a quick sandwich on the go… this is the place! High quality ingredients and the bread is just sooooo delicious! I wish the sandwiches were a bit bigger and wish they would offer a meal deal. They also have to go salads but I was unable to try those. I love supporting local shops… try stopping by this place.

Looking for ice cream we wandered into Evergrain. Two gelatos, two sun buns and a molasses cookie later, we headed out — very happy!

Very good quality pastries/baked goods with a homemade fresh texture. Sandwiches were ok. Great place to go chill to with a good vibe.

The real deal no matter what you pick. You can tell they bake their scones the British way with cream, not oil. The Vollkorn brot tasted exactly like the bread I ate in Germany, and the croissants are all butter. A charming, convivial place with great coffee. Love!

Cutest bread shop in the heart of Chestertown. We booked a wedding venue nearby and wanted to explore the town, so we stopped in for lunch. The salesgirls were so sweet and chatted us up a bit about where we were from. The sandwiches we ordered were really fresh and tasty and the amazing nutella latte was just what I needed. There is free wi-fi, a clean bathroom and enough seating for a busy afternoon. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Chestertown.

I wish that every small town had a bakery/coffee shop like Evergrain. The muffins, pastries, sandwiches, and coffee are out of this world. Everything is served fresh, and the staff is friendly. I can’t wait to try their brownies!

Based on everyone else’s stars we clearly are an anomaly. We were advised by the locals to go to two other places but picked her anyway so its’ out own fault. Sandwiches are pre-made and when they are gone they are gone. All they had left was the turkey sandwich which had more salt than turkey. Couldn’t eat it. The other sandwiches in our part were not great either. Apparently the blackberry cabernet sorbet was pretty good, but I didn’t try it. It was obvious that this place should close at noon and just do what they apparently do best, coffee and breakfast pastries. Too bad. Seems they cater to locals not tourists.

An absolute gem. Chestertown has a bakery that would be a find in downtown Baltimore. The baked goods are impeccably crafted, and attractively displayed. If you are in the mood for something sweet, It is difficult to choose among the various muffins and croissant variations. The Sun Bun is, as other reviews suggest, a can’t miss – a light and flaky croissant infused with sugar and spice. I also indulged in a pumpkin muffin, which ideally could have been more moist… but, yum. My girlfriend had ham and gruyère on a buttered baguette – and we could have been in Paris again. The espresso drinks could have been hotter but were well made. I would have preferred my artfully swirled latte’ staring up at me from real stoneware – certainly there must be local potters anxious to showcase their work – rather than generic paper cuppage. But with the high molded ceilings and the cheerful, helpful young staff, this place is as close to perfect as you can expect.

Sun Bun. All day. Every day. It’s the ONLY place in Kent County to get real coffee and tea drinks. Skip Play It Again Sam’s. Head straight for Evergrain.

It’s been six months since I’ve finished my medical training in Chestertown and had my last croissant and latte here.. But walking in tonight during First Friday activities Sheri and I enjoyed a croissant, charcuterie platter, & a lemon bar. Evergrain has consistent quality and demonstrates artisanship that few new world bakeries could match. Great job Doug!!!

Went here on a Saturday morning at 8:30 before the farmer’s market(also a great place to get fresh local produce) and it was fantastic. I got a savory scone which was made with onion, goat cheese, and walnuts. It was perfect, decadent, and very VERY dense. I couldn’t even finish the whole thing and was full until lunch time! My friend ate the everything bagel with cream cheese and enjoyed it very much. 2 coffees + scone + bagel with cream cheese = $ 9. The service is VERY friendly and moderately quick. The sandwiches looked so yummy, but I was too full to even think about buying one. The girl was making them and putting them out as we came in. All the pastries looked great too. Coffee is not like Starbucks. You take a cup next to the coffee dispenser and fill it up as you please & all the milk, sugar, honey etc is right next to it. I can’t wait to come back! Overall the Evergrain Bread Co. is not too shabby for a quick bite to eat, but the only downside was that the coffee was lukewarm but I think it was because I added a lot of half and half… oops :-P
