Awesome find after running some errands in the suburbs. Excellent mezze plate(that they kept refilling! Whoo hoo!!) And my husband’s lamb dish was spectacular(I believe the waitress said it was award winning). Only 4 stars because I got a gluten free salmon dish that was good, but not out of this world. Likely my own fault for ordering gluten free!

Ordered a chicken Caesar salad wrap for lunch it was really good to my surprise. I’ve never been here before but I think this will be my new favorite spot.

One of our favorite local restaurants. On this night we went to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Once again the good was excellent. The chicken marsala remains one of the best I’ve had. Wife had the shrimp scampi; mother had the salmon, and my boys both had the chicken parm. All loved their meals. The boys feel this is their favorite chicken parm. However, on this night the kitchen was unbelievably slow. We waited 30 minutes following our salads to get our entrees. We were told it was attributable to a great number of take out orders and a new chef. Our striking server, Joanne, was very good, but should have offered a round of drinks. I subsequently asked for comped desserts, which they provided. Fortunately, the food quality assuaged the painfully long wait. Still… one of our favorites.

I’ve eaten many times and I have never had a bad meal! I love that specials are always special! Greek with a twist! Presentation is always beautiful! Food is delish! They offer gluten free options. For the basics: The avgolemono soup is one of my favorites with a Greek salad. The chicken with truffle fries excellent and the fries are the best fries I’ve ever had!

I had a wonderful meal at Putterham Grille. The greek salad was one of the best I’ve ever had — The feta cheese is outstanding! I had a special with fish and shrimp with breaded topping and a squash risotto with lobster sauce. My friend had the Veal Marsala — she said it was one of the best she’s ever had(she’s a bit of a Marsala connoisseur). The warm rice pudding with cinnamon was excellent. Finally, we selected Putterham as our spot for dinner because we were looking for a restaurant in the chestnut hill area with good reviews and that was«kid friendly.» We dined with my friend’s 3 year old. We ate early(5:30p) and saw one baby when we were there. Come prepared with crayons(etc) to keep little ones engaged!

So, I know that this spot gets great reviews. That is why we gave it a try tonight. After all we live just around the corner. I had looked at the menu before hand and was fine with the pricing. The hostess was very welcoming and the wait staff great. Food was solid. Con… with the pricing as it is, I expect to have some atmosphere. This spot has none. It feels a bit like a food court at the mall. Kind of odd.

I was fortunate enough to have catering from here, and let me tell you… YUMMY! We tried the caprese sandwich, chicken caesar wrap, buffalo chicken wrap, strawberry salad… it was delish, and the brownies were fabulous like they were fresh baked! Will defiantly be ordering from here again!

Had dinner with 2 other couples the other night. Had heard of the restaurant through an event we had attended that had given out samples of food from various restaurants in the area! The lighting and vibe were very calming. Industrial, but very cozy. The greeter took us to the table and was very friendly. Waiter came and talked with us about the beverages and wines. Very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions! There were lots of service people clearing and refilling the table. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms 4 per order(12.99) a little pricey, but so delicious! Rich in flavor from the reduction. The Mezza(spelling ?) plate had a nice variety of dips. Hummas, tziki, and tabouli, I think olives too, with delicious pita bread wedges. They brought more pita to finish the dips. There was another type of bread too that was served, just because. It was scrumptious too! We ordered the recommended Denver lamb kabob. Succulent tender and very tasty! It came with rice pilaf and chunks of onion and green pepper. The chicken kabob was also served this way. Juicy and very flavorful! The jerk chicken, was told, was juicy and flavorful too! For dessert we had the custard style rice pudding and molten chocolate cake. Both were amazing. Plenty for the 6 of us to have a couple of spoonfuls. All in all would recommend this laid back tasteful restaurant. Easily accessible. Don’t have to go into the city to get this service and food. Very reasonably priced for what you get too. Will be returning. Bön appetite!

Not a fan… food was way too salty and not very good, and baklava was packed with grains of sugar instead of honey. Yuk…

I’m a big fan of Spanish and Greek ethnic food and tapas. Putterham Grille was a great find! This local restaurant in Chestnut Hill is definitely worth a visit! To start, I would like to mention that the place is very clean and organized. Usually one of the main indicators to look out for are — wine glasses. What can I say — they were spotless! The entire place is very well maintained and managed. This Greek restaurant has great people working with them. Our server was very professional and very knowledgable about the menu and we took some of his tips on the list! Ethnic Greek food tasted unbelievable! I had a lamb kebab with rice pilaf and my wife got a delicious blue cheese sirloin steak. I could not refuse to have a slice of that :) Everything was reasonably priced and worth every penny. Moreover, 2 weeks since my first visit ny company had a corporate meeting and I was in search of a good place where I could order food for 30+ people. I called Putterham and spoke with the catering manager. The order was placed within 3 minutes. They delivered everything to our office location on time, nice console tables were installed and food, as always, was unbelievable. Guys, if you’re looking to order a catering delivery near Newton or Chestnut Hill — don’t hesitate to call Putterham. 5 starts!

Just enjoyed a truly delicious meal. The food is awesome. Everything is fresh, and they are very willing to accommodate and please. Bread was delicious; mezze plate with pita wonderful; yea to lemon egg soup, silver dollar mushrooms, spinach pie and most wonderful lamb kebob – the lamb was extremely tender and cooked to perfection sauteed onions, peppers and rice pilaf rounded out the plate. Will definitely return.

Our favorite place to go. I have never been disappointed and when I was it was minor. I am a pastor so when we have visitors I bring them to Puttingham. It’s the best.

Great ambiance and well mannered service. Anything I’ve ordered here has been delicious from the perfectly cooked salmon and asparagus to a good olé burger. Worth the stop and I’ll certainly be coming back.

Catering was terrible– food was seriously messed up. Quality of food was good but for the price paid they should have been able to deliver what I ordered and at the times in our contract.

Unbelievable BRUNCH!!! I don’t know why these guys don’t advertise, my friends told me to bring my family for brunch on Sunday. Highly recommend to try pancakes! Chef brought them out for us personally on a huge plate! Pancakes were mega DELICIOUS!!! We also had omelettes and French toasts. Portions are big, prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend to anybody who lives nearby!

The menu is somewhat diverse, offering many choices, from deli sandwiches to traditional Greek fare. The place itself is nice, nestled in a strip mall in the Chestnut Hill area. Consisting of mostly tables, with some booths lining the walls, the place is quaint. It was clean also, which is generally something I notice immediately at a new place. On to the Food! The pita bread… WOW. It’s really soft, almost like the Na’an bread. It’s perfectly grilled also! That’s perhaps my favorite part. I’m a huge Tzatziki fan! Love the stuff. I find the Putterham Grille to do a decent one, although I personally think they overdue the dill and underuse the garlic(and I’m not sure if there’s also mint in there), but I am a big fan of the more garlic-y ones. The Gyro was good. The chicken breast was thin, and grilled to perfection. Between the pita and chicken, I couldn’t ask for better. My complaint would be that instead of using a tomato, onion, lettuce mix you find at most places, they use a Tabouli mix. I didn’t care for it as much, and next time I might ask to not have it put on there. It’s a personal preference. We will be back. We will probably try different menu items. The owner is super nice and it’s a really good spot.

Ugh… I really wanted to like this place because it’s so close to where I live, but my recent experience was nothing to brag about. I will start off by saying that the food was decent — the burger was tasty and the chicken pesto wrap is good too — and the homemade potato chips — really good. Unfortunately that’s where the praise ends. The prices are ridiculously expensive. I guess I should have expected that in Brookline though. But I don’t think local businesses should rip people off just because they are located in a wealthy area. I went online, so I knew what the prices were before I ordered, but when I showed up to pick up the food — the prices were completely different. Their excuse? «Oh — the online prices aren’t correct.» I find this to be a dishonest business practice. I already felt that the prices were a bit high and then to find out they were even more? I felt ripped off. The burger is listed as $ 8.99 and included fries. They didn’t cook the burger to order and the price of that was more too — cheese, etc… but none of that was noted on the menu. The wrap alone was $ 8.99 and it didn’t include chips or anything on the side. Chips were an extra $ 1.99, yet their menu says they are $ 1.25 when you order them with a wrap. They said that was a misprint. The wrap and chips just were not worth $ 11. When I read through their printed menu at the restaurant multiple items were crossed off and higher prices were written in. I finally took them to task on it since they were charging me extra dollars on almost every item on my order. They’re response? They gave me a $ 1 off. That’s not even what I wanted. I just wanted to pay the price that was listed. Honor the prices that you post or update your menu. Very unprofessional.

We had Putterham Grille for our office one day. Catering was great. Apparently, this place is owned by a Greek family and you could taste it. The hummus and tzatziki was the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot! The roasted veggies were so perfect. The eggplant parm was amazing — great sauce! Even the toasted pita bread was delicious. Can’t wait to try them again!
