I purchased a voucher for 2 hours of cleaning through Living Social and scheduled the service for a Wednesday afternoon at 3:00. My husband rushed home from work to be available to let the cleaners in. By 3:30, no one had showed up, so I called the manager/contact person Dee. She told me the cleaners were stuck in traffic and would be there in 15 minutes. They rolled in at 4:00. Because we only had them for 2 hours, I’d been told they could usually cover about 5 – 7 rooms in that time and to have in mind which rooms I’d like them to prioritize. My house is only 7 rooms total, but I asked them to focus on the downstairs(kitchen, living room, bathroom) and move upstairs with whatever time was left. At one point, one of the cleaners came upstairs and asked if I wanted her to do any dusting upstairs, to which I replied yes, please do whatever you have time for. After an hour and forty minutes, the cleaners found me on the front porch and told me they were leaving. I noted that they had 20 minutes left, but they assured me they had finished everything. I wasn’t going to make them stand there and wait while I inspected the whole house because I’m not a jerk, but I guess I am a sucker, so I sent them on their way(with a tip! I’m a sucker!). I headed inside and immediately realized they had not vacuumed whatsoever, had mopped ineffectively, left one toilet bowl dirty and one countertop dirty, and hadn’t touched the upstairs aside from dusting one dresser and, bizarrely, mopping like a three square foot patch of floor. I immediately called Dee and complained that the service was incomplete. After about two hours of back and forth phone calls, she told me that the cleaners claimed they had done everything, but she agreed to send someone back out the following day to finish the job. I was very pleased that she was willing to put things right. But I shouldn’t have been, because the following day the cleaner arrived and the only thing I can figure is that she turned the vacuum cleaner on and just left it sitting in one place for 20 minutes before jetting again. The house was clearly still not vacuumed. And she turned my thermostat up to 90. I will not be utilizing Sparkle Queens again and I recommend you take your business elsewhere. If I wanted my house to be only partially cleaned, I would have done it myself for free.
