I love this little gem of a Market hidden in Cheswick! Mom and Pop owned. Nice couple been in business over 20 years. If they don’t have it they will get it for you. Prices are reasonable for a quick something you forgot!

Went in today to buy a few steaks on a tip we got from a neighbor.
Can’t say that I’m real happy. I support local small business frequently and believe that they are key to the community.
We received a flyer from our neighbor from the market advertising $ 9.99 lb «choice Boneless strip loins». When the gentleman came out and cut the steaks in front of us we were very excited… That is until we realized that the USDA stamp on the package said USDA certified Select.
Now, for those of you who don’t know the USDA stamps 3 levels of beef. Prime, Choice, and Select (from high to low) select is the grade you buy at Wal-​Mart or a garbage butcher when you see filet for $ 5.99 lb. There is nothing wrong with this grade of meat, just no marbling of fat so it tends to be dry when you cook it.
Seasoned, the steaks were ok… Just disappointed that he is not selling you what he is advertising.
Be warned!!! Don’t let him rip you off. $ 9.99 lb for select beef strip loin is very expensive.
