Giant Food Gasoline Pick Up

Very cheap gas for this area. But they do put a $ 150 hold on your credit card. I always get a notice when I use these pumps.

Basically a gas station like any other… except the prices are pretty low. My only question is… what gas do they use? Part of me figures it’s Shell, since Giant and Shell have a deal, but the other part of me wonders if its just «generic» due to the low prices that match ‘no-​name’ gas stations.
I’ll have to give this grocery pick-​up thing a try sometime too :)

Beware! I drove a few miles extra because the gas prices were the best. Imagine my surprise when I saw I was charged for premium when I selected regular 87! Turns out that they are aware of this happening — I bet often. I just happened to notice as I was pulling out. The older guy explained that a) if you park too close or b) if you park a bit farther, the cord often trips the 91 grade. Even if you select a non-​premium gas, and even if that is LIT UP with a red light, you will be charged for premium. Right … Makes sense, huh?
If this isn’t a scam, one thing is for certain — this is a known issue that rakes in $ for them while ripping off unsuspecting customers. I finally got a refund on the overcharge … About $ 5 for my 10 gallon tank. But it took 20 mins of the guy explaining what happened over and over, telling me I wasn’t listening (I repeated his schpiel back to him) etc. Annoying, and im hoping to alert others to this issue, which is quite possibly fraud.

This gas station is terrific! We filled up the tank there two days ago because their price was the best in that neighborhood. They have plastic gloves & Purell, which I’ve never seen at any other gas station and that was very welcome. They also have a squeegee for cleaning windshields, which is rare to find at gas stations these days.
We noticed that Giant customers can have their orders delivered to this station, which is certainly a very convenient service.

They sell diesel!!! Cheap gasoline, I wonder if the money i spent on gas gives me additional gas rewards. I’ll have to find out next time. I think people pick up groceries here. The gas station selling Diesel is such a BOOST!

Love this location, easy to get into and out of if you know the area. I am glad there is a gas station you can use your giant points at in Chevy Chase now! I hated traveling to Silver Spring or Bethesda to get the money off on gas. I have not been inside this particular location or used their grocery pick up yet. If you need gas and you are on Conneticut it is a great place to stop!

I enjoyed my experience. Background: I am not great with going down the list in the store, I wander back and forth as I remember something I meant to get. I do better when told what to pick up by my spouse. I do not want to pay for delivery and I am as happy to drive to pick up my groceries as opposed to managing my way through the parking lot, store, and check out.

typed in my giant card and it knows what I usually buy which is somewhat creepy but also convenient. I looked what was on sale. Then shopped for the rest and checked out.
I probably won’t do it every week as Peapod doesn’t have everything I want (though it had some things I don’t normally see in store), but when it makes sense I think I will sign up Thursday night and pick up Friday after work. I was apprehensive about the produce but it looks fine and if anything it was a bigger portion than I would have chosen for myself. And jeez they are VERY generous with their plastic bags which are a scarce resource in MoCo. I did find their larger bags somewhat harder to carry once I got home than my own reusable bags that I can sling over my shoulder.
They seem to want customers and are very courteous customer service. Give it a shot while it is still new and you may get some perks as well.
Oh and there is gas for the giant gas points that is easy to scan your card as opposed to the type in the number deal at Shell.
