Wish I had checked Unilocal before ordering. Visiting from Hawaii and wanted a taste from home where Japanese is abundant. I didn’t expect perfect but at least good food would have been nice. I’m not even sure what it was we received, but it was NOT good. The sashimi is cut too thick. Tempera vegetables are too easy to not mess up, but come on, not every vegetable should be made into tempura? Especially not cucumber. The rock roll is VERY funky and the inside texture is off. It’s not the first fried roll we’ve ever had, but it’s the first that we’ve taken one bite and tossed in the trash. Gyoza should be pan fried and steamed in the pan, not just steamed and mushy. The Tokyo fried chicken tastes like flour. We will NOT order from them again.

I like Golden City so I assumed I would like Sakura since it is the same location and everything just a Japanese menu. I was wrong. I’ve ordered from here several times. The first time I got their Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box that comes with a side salad and Gyoza. The chicken wasn’t terrible but it was definitely NOT teriyaki. It had little to no sauce on it and didn’t taste a thing like teriyaki. We’ve ordered it twice and same thing each time. The gyoza were very watery and had almost no filling. The outside was soggy and the inside was mushy. We also got the shrimp shumai, which were pretty decent. Another time I ordered the Bagel Roll. It was terrible. The sauce they put on top was awful and the salmon was slimy. I threw most of it out, that’s how bad it was. I also felt slightly sick afterwards but that might just be a coincidence. It turned me off sushi for awhile. The dressing on the salad is also very strange. It seems like it’s 95% the stuff in the bottom of a bottle of Italian dressing if you forget to shake it. Theres almost no liquid which makes it hard to put on salad. Nothing we have ever ordered tastes fresh and the quality is seriously lacking. I’ll continue ordering from Golden City but never again from Sakura.

My biggest suggestion to Sakura City, actually, would be to get a website/post its menu online. A group of friends and I ordered delivery from here, and really enjoyed it. Our group had a couple of the deluxe bento boxes, various rolls and apps, and everyone really enjoyed their food. I had seaweed salad, the eel/avo roll, and another roll w/tempura in it, the name of which I can’t quite remember. Everyone really enjoyed their food(especially those who got bento boxes – they were all very pumped about gyoza). The delivery also came in pretty much the exact time window they told us, which was appreciated. Overall, really solid.
