There are generally so many words that describe healthcare services today. I have a great affinity for what these highly skilled professionals do each day. It is with true mixed emotions I write the following. While as the previous review noted the service on the front of house was acceptable. However the work and medical practice the doctor actually did(who’s name I will leave out) was sincerely life altering for the worse. He had no compassion for what was a major surgery for my family and the end result including medical billing deserves disciplinary action. If you are considering any minor or major surgery on your eye(s) I would recommend the Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore. Your vision deserves the best service and medical attention despite your ability to pay. I would never recommend this super group as they should review all of their doctors because emotionally and physically this group’s medical practice has altered my life.

I’d called my mother’s long-term ophthalmologist’s office nine days ago(a Friday afternoon) in order to get her an urgent/last-minute appointment for six days ago — and it also needed to be «first thing», since she had back-to-back appointments due to moving to Pikesville imminently. Unsurprisingly, her retina specialist(at Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons [see my separate review]) was already booked-up — but his terrific secretary(assistant-?) highly recommended The Retina Group of Washington(located in the same building). I figured the chances were probably nil — but when I called, the(VERY friendly and helpful) receptionist told me Dr. Lai could see my mother at 8:45 a.m. The receptionist was as friendly in person as on the phone, plus Dr. Lai was *very* kindhearted and friendly. Another doctor briefly saw my mother first, and he was *also* very friendly.
